They Steal Things From You, Then Sell Them Back

Faster security screening offered for a fee at SFO

"Frequent travelers who use San Francisco International Airport once again will be able to get through security a little faster with the return of a fee-based pre-screening program approved by the Airport Commission Tuesday.

The CLEAR program, operated by a private company, Alclear LLC, will allow people to move to - or near - the front of the line to get their carry-on items screened. It will allow them to bypass the regular first tier of security where travelers must provide a driver's license or passport to a Transportation Security Administration employee and instead use an automated kiosk.

"It provides predictability in getting to the front of the line and getting through clearance faster," said SFO chief John Martin.

Participants must pay a $179 annual fee for the special treatment. Spouses or domestic partners can be added on for an extra $50, and their children 17 years old and younger can join for free."

The Deaths Caused By The U.S. In Iraq Are "Untold"

One million dead.

OVER A million Iraqis are dead from America's war

That sentence is a cognitive litmus test. Some people's immediate reaction is, "That can't be right," because the United States couldn't do that. Or because crimes on that scale don't still happen. Or because they do happen, but only in horrible places that the United States hasn't rescued.

One million is a "Grandpa, what did you do to stop it?" number. It's a number that undeniably puts the American state among history's villains. Those who are not willing or able to accept this are physically unable to retain the fact that over a million Iraqis are dead. Their brains expel it like a foreign germ.

Noam Chomsky once wrote that the "sign of a truly totalitarian culture is that important truths simply lack cognitive meaning and are interpretable only at the level of 'Fuck You,' so they can then elicit a perfectly predictable torrent of abuse in response."

That pretty much sums up the how the media reacted to the one million figure in 2007 when it was announced by the British polling firm Opinion Research Business (ORB). (In fact, the firm estimated 1,220,580 Iraqis had died, confirming and updating a separate study done the year before by researchers from Johns Hopkins University and published in the Lancet medical journal.)

Take Kevin O'Brien, deputy editor of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Upon receiving a media advisory about the findings from ORB, whose clients include the British Conservative Party and Morgan Stanley, this was his response: "Please remove me from your mailing list and spare me your transparent propaganda.

"WE DON'T do body counts," Gen. Tommy Franks once famously answered a reporter's question about civilian casualties. He's not alone."

Ask The People Who Are Being Murdered

Hundreds of slaughtered civilians isn't a "huge number" for Obama

"United States, Washington: US President Barack Obama participates in an interview with YouTube and Google from the Roosevelt Room of the White House in Washington, DC, January 30, 2012. (AFP Photo / Saul Loeb)
On Monday afternoon, Barack Obama became the first president to host a virtual town hall live on the Internet.

While that might be a feat worthy of the record books, President Obama did something else during his address that America has become accustomed to: he lied to the world.

Speaking Monday during a live web-chat hosted by Google, the president took on a series of issues submitted by the American people. Over the span of 45 minutes, President Obama addressed the Stop Online Piracy Act while refusing to side with either end of the argument, admitted to the world that he isn’t all that swell of a dancer and took a query from a professional puppeteer. In between ignoring the real issues or offering any sort of solid solution to the nation’s biggest problems, the president did put something rather important out for the world to ponder: America’s ongoing drone missions aren’t really all that bad.

If you ask anyone outside of the Oval Office — or especially America — they might tell you otherwise.

Tackling a question posed on drone strikes, President Obama defended the ongoing missions on Monday, saying they were necessary to target terrorists in a most effective manner. "For us to be able to get them in another way would involve probably a lot more intrusive military action than the ones we're already engaging in,” the president said on the topic of drones. While an argument could easily be made that operating drone missions in lieu of putting boots on the ground is best for the US Armed Forces, the president put a lot on the line Monday when he downplayed the result of the strikes.

Those drone attacks, carried out by unmanned aircraft controlled thousands of miles away, don’t do a lot of harm, said the president. According to Obama, drones had "not caused a huge number of civilian casualties” and he added that it’s "important for everybody to understand that this thing is kept on a very tight leash.”

How small is that not-so huge number? If you ask anyone outside of the American intelligence community, they’ll tell you it is in the hundreds.

But what’s a few hundred civilian deaths, right?"

Toys Of The Atomic Age

"Oak Ridge Associated Universities has a groovy collection of vintage “atomic toys” and games for children which referenced and/or promoted nuclear technology. Included are board games such as “Uranium Rush” and “Nuclear War” and, below, 1952’s Gilbert U-238 Atomic Energy Lab, which came with four pieces of real uranium:"

Smart Bullets

Self-guided bullet prototype can hit target a mile away

"Sandia’s design for the four-inch-long bullet includes an optical sensor in the nose to detect a laser beam on a target. The sensor sends information to guidance and control electronics that use an algorithm in an eight-bit central processing unit to command electromagnetic actuators. These actuators steer tiny fins that guide the bullet to the target.

Most bullets shot from rifles, which have grooves, or rifling, that cause them to spin so they fly straight, like a long football pass. To enable a bullet to turn in flight toward a target and to simplify the design, the spin had to go, Jones said.

The bullet flies straight due to its aerodynamically stable design, which consists of a center of gravity that sits forward in the projectile and tiny fins that enable it to fly without spin, just as a dart does, he said.

Computer aerodynamic modeling shows the design would result in dramatic improvements in accuracy, Jones said. Computer simulations showed an unguided bullet under real-world conditions could miss a target more than a half mile away (1,000 meters away) by 9.8 yards (9 meters), but a guided bullet would get within 8 inches (0.2 meters), according to the patent.

Plastic sabots provide a gas seal in the cartridge and protect the delicate fins until they drop off after the bullet emerges from the firearm’s barrel.

The prototype does not require a device found in guided missiles called an inertial measuring unit, which would have added substantially to its cost. Instead, the researchers found that the bullet’s relatively small size when compared to guided missiles “is helping us all around. It’s kind of a fortuitous thing that none of us saw when we started,” Jones said.

As the bullet flies through the air, it pitches and yaws at a set rate based on its mass and size. In larger guided missiles, the rate of flight-path corrections is relatively slow, so each correction needs to be very precise because fewer corrections are possible during flight. But “the natural body frequency of this bullet is about 30 hertz, so we can make corrections 30 times per second. That means we can overcorrect, so we don’t have to be as precise each time,” Jones said.

Testing has shown the electromagnetic actuator performs well and the bullet can reach speeds of 2,400 feet per second, or Mach 2.1, using commercially available gunpowder. The researchers are confident it could reach standard military speeds using customized gunpowder.

And a nighttime field test, in which a tiny light-emitting diode, or LED, was attached to the bullet showed the battery and electronics can survive flight, Jones said."

"These rifles were of a white metal stocked with wood, which I learned later was a very light and intensely hard growth much prized on Mars, and entirely unknown to us denizens of Earth. The metal of the barrel is an alloy composed principally of aluminum and steel which they have learned to temper to a hardness far exceeding that of the steel with which we are familiar. The weight of these rifles is comparatively little, and with the small caliber, explosive, radium projectiles which they use, and the great length of the barrel, they are deadly in the extreme and at ranges which would be unthinkable on Earth. The theoretic effective radius of this rifle is three hundred miles, but the best they can do in actual service when equipped with their wireless finders and sighters is but a trifle over two hundred miles."

Our overlords' vision for the people.

Children's medicines coated with brain-damaging aluminum

"(NaturalNews) Aluminum Lake food coloring, used to heavily coat liquid medicines for children, contains dangerous amounts of aluminum and harmful synthetic petrochemicals. These "petrochemicals" are carcinogens containing petroleum, antifreeze and ammonia, which cause a long list of adverse reactions. Aluminum poisoning can lead to short and long term central nervous system (CNS) damage, such as memory impairments, autism, epilepsy, mental retardation, and dementia.

Research shows that just 4ppm of aluminum can cause the blood to coagulate. This is what causes Alzheimer's Disease and has been documented to inhibit learning. Aluminum consumption can also be associated with the development of bone disorders, including stress fractures.

Also known as tartrazine, FD&C Yellow Aluminum Lake is a chemical concoction derived from coal tar. It is known to be a reproductive toxin. All artificial colors contain Aluminum Lake, so when your child gets to pick between red, blue or green medicine, they're really choosing which poison they get to consume. Several chemically enhanced food colorings contain ammonia and therefore produce compounds proven to cause various cancers in animal studies, according to CSPI, the Center for Science in the Public Interest. (http://www.cspinet.org/reports/chemcuisine.htm)"

A comment from the site:

"The peer-reviewed medical journal, Brain Research, has revealed that aluminum-induced neural degeneration in rats is greatly enhanced when the animals were fed low doses of fluoride. The aluminum level in the brains of the fluoride-treated group was found to be double that of the control group. Fluoride facilitates the passage of aluminum across the blood-brain barrier. This aluminum is deposited in the brain and is associated with the plaque on the brain that is associated with Alzeimers. Notice how all our food is now packaged in aluminum! About 70% of the US is wrongfully medicated with fluoride!"

Protesters Sue TVA Over Costume Ban at Meetings

"Several people who tried to go to a Tennessee Valley Authority board meeting in costumes including Santa Claus and a pirate are suing the utility, which banned such getups after people protesting a nuclear plant dressed up as zombies.

In July, the protesters in Chattanooga dressed as zombies in an effort to convince TVA officials not to re-start construction of the Bellefonte Nuclear Plant in Alabama, where work had stopped in 1988. Soon after, the utility banned costumes at its meetings in an effort to avoid disruptions.

In August, the four wearing costumes were not allowed to enter a TVA board meeting in Knoxville. A fifth was kicked out of the meeting when he mimicked a zombie.

Those five and another person are asking a federal court to forbid the nation's largest public utility from banning costumes at future public meetings. The lawsuit seeks $50,000 in damages for each of the plaintiffs, The Knoxville News Sentinel reported (http://bit.ly/wfkUnJ).

TVA spokeswoman Barbara Martocci said the utility does not comment on active lawsuits.

The board agreed during that August meeting to finish building the nuclear plant, and the lawsuit also asks the court to set aside that vote.

The lawsuit says Chris Irwin, Bonnie Swinford, Matt Jones, Ricki Draper, Mark Homer and Margaret Rogers all came to the meeting. Irwin came dressed in a business suit but with makeup on his face; Draper dressed as Santa Claus; Homer came as Benjamin Franklin; and Rogers dressed as a pirate. Those in costume were turned away. Jones and Swinford were not in costume and spoke at the meeting.

While Jones was speaking, he made a joke about zombies being outside, mussed up his hair, raised his hands and made a low moaning nose," the lawsuit says. He was immediately told to leave."

Expendable Carriers Currently Taunting Iran

New US "Super-Carriers" being built as we speak

"Design & Preparations Continue for the USA’s New CVN-21 Super-Carriers
Some nations have aircraft carriers. The USA has super-carriers.

Or soon will have.

Never thought I'd get this interested in boats, but when I read that USS Ponce is headed for the Persian Gulf despite its advanced age (More US scrap metal headed for Persian Gulf), and that USS Abraham Lincoln has already hoved in to replace the Stennis, I became interested in the models, age and condition of these tubs lining up against Iran.

World War III had better be over by August because that's when the Lincoln, which has reached its half-life, is scheduled to go into dry dock in preparation for a very major overhaul and upgrade to the tune of an estimated $3 billion.

Or maybe if Iran were to successfully destroy the Lincoln (or if China came to Iran's rescue with its ballistic missile, Dong Feng 21, specifically designed to kill US aircraft carriers) the US could console itself with the money saved, and the opportunity to put it toward something newer and shinier.

Because, according to the article headlined at the top of this page, new, more streamlined and more energy-efficient, therefore more cost-efficient carriers can be had for a mere $8.1 billion. And, in fact, the Gerald R. Ford is in production as we speak, specifically to replace the well-aged USS Enterprise, currently positioned in harm's way.

There's also a brand new USS John F. Kennedy in the works.

Interestingly, the company, Northrop Grumman, that has the option to overhaul the Lincoln, and is building the John F. Kennedy, is also the company that is currently building the Gerald R. Ford.

You know what it's like these days - you take a piece of equipment into the shop to get it repaired and the guy says why spend the money on repair when you can get a shiny new one for not a whole lot more that will actually pay for itself over time.

Also of interest: Northrop Grumman has swallowed up just about every competing industry and has bought politicians left and right, not to mention that some of the New American Century's finest have served the company as officials, consultants or shareholders.

All in all, it seems even more likely that the US is hoping for a few burials at sea to save the cost and effort of having to either upgrade or ethically dispose of its old tubs, and reward Northrop Grumman for its past deeds with fat contracts for "super carriers".

Clearly, if Iran doesn't take the bait, Mossad will have to step in."

Endless Enemies

The Greatest Threat

It's not the Mooslims.

"There’s always a Looming Danger, an Ominous Threat lurking somewhere – that’s the War Party’s bread-and-butter. Back in the day, it was the Germans, who were going to cross the Atlantic and meet their Japanese allies somewhere near the Mississippi. Then it was the Commies, who were not only in the process of swallowing Asia but supposedly had their Fifth Column right here in the US, ready willing and able to take the Capitol at a signal from the Kremlin. After that there was some hesitation in deciding just who or what would take the place of the Red Threat, but that was decided on September 11, 2001, when Osama bin Laden’s Global Caliphate emerged as the Bogeyman of the moment. It turned into quite a long moment, as we have seen, one that still lingers to this day, even after bin Laden’s death and the crushing of al-Qaeda: Americans, being sentimentalists, hang on to their villains long after their shelf life has expired.

That’s because these dark eminences are alluring, in their way: the narratives we construct tell us a story we can be proud of, a tale of derring-do in which the American people are made of Heroic Stuff, holding aloft the Torch of Freedom lest it be extinguished by rampaging hordes of Orcs, sacrificing their pelf, their liberty – and, often, their lives – in the name of Saving the World.

The Threat has great value to our rulers: they cling to this narrative because it justifies their power, and their insatiable desire for more. President Barack Obama started out his recent state of the union address by invoking the Threat and holding up the military’s response to it as a shining example:

“These achievements are a testament to the courage, selflessness, and teamwork of America’s armed forces. At a time when too many of our institutions have let us down, they exceed all expectations. They’re not consumed with personal ambition. They don’t obsess over their differences. They focus on the mission at hand. They work together. Imagine what we could accomplish if we followed their example.”

Yes, just imagine if civil society was organized along military lines, with all of us taking orders from our commander-in-chief – what a glorious time it would be!

Our rulers invoke these militaristic metaphors as exhortations to get us in line: we hear much about “unity,” “unselfishness,” glorification of “the mission” (whose mission?). These are the bromides uttered by tyrants and would-be tyrants, who would love to turn society into a civilian army. Their vision of the future is of a collective marching in lockstep down the road to whatever hellish fate they have in store for us."

Huge Israeli Drone That Can Reach Iran Crashes

"The Israeli military says a drone that can fly as far as Iran has crashed in central Israel on a routine experimental flight.

The military says there were no injuries in Sunday's crash, and it was investigating the incident.

The Heron TP drone is also known locally as the Eitan. It has a wingspan of 86 feet (26 meters), making it the size of a Boeing 737 passenger jet. It is the largest unmanned aircraft in Israel's military arsenal.

The drone figures to be featured prominently in any potential Israeli operation against Iran and its expanding nuclear program."

Heron TP could provide surveillance, jam enemy communications and connect ground control and manned air force planes. It's unclear if is could carry a deployable payload in a potential strike."

More Obsolete Targets Sent To Persian Gulf

False Flags Ahoy

"Further to our earlier discussion about the US having found a way to dispose of its scrap metal and at the same time create a pretext (with the help of Israel?) for WWIII, here is the latest news report (bolding mine):

Pentagon deploys ‘mothership’ to Persian Gulf as tensions with Iran escalate

The Pentagon is rushing a “mothership” to the Middle East to be used by commando teams as unrest in the region heightens, reports The Washington Post.

The U.S. Navy is planning to refit the USS Ponce, an amphibious transport docking ship, which was about to be retired and decommissioned.

The Ponce was commissioned in 1971 - it's now over 40 years old. Wikipedia reports:
On 2 December, 2011, Ponce came home to await decommissioning on 30 March, 2012, when she would be towed to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and be placed with the mothball fleet
And now "she" is headed to the Gulf. How much clearer could it be that a false flag event is planned?"

Oh the outrage when our brave servicepeople are sent to the bottom.

The Challenger disaster

"The flight, and the astronauts’ lives, did not end at that point, 73 seconds after launch. After Challenger was torn apart, the pieces continued upward from their own momentum, reaching a peak altitude of 65,000 feet before arching back down into the water. The cabin hit the surface 2 minutes and 45 seconds after breakup, and all investigations indicate the crew was still alive until then.

What's less clear is whether they were conscious. If the cabin depressurized (as seems likely), the crew would have had difficulty breathing. In the words of the final report by fellow astronauts, the crew “possibly but not certainly lost consciousness,” even though a few of the emergency air bottles (designed for escape from a smoking vehicle on the ground) had been activated.

The cabin hit the water at a speed greater than 200 mph, resulting in a force of about 200 G’s — crushing the structure and destroying everything inside. If the crew did lose consciousness (and the cabin may have been sufficiently intact to hold enough air long enough to prevent this), it’s unknown if they would have regained it as the air thickened during the last seconds of the fall. Official NASA commemorations of “Challenger’s 73-second flight” subtly deflect attention from what was happened in the almost three minutes of flight (and life) remaining AFTER the breakup."

Movies

I've got eclectic taste in films, time on my hands and the ability online to watch just about any film I care to. Dramas, comedies, scifi, documentaries, animation, classics, you name it. I'll even try comic book adaptations like The Green Lantern or the thousands of Marvel efforts or Jonah Hex. (an aside here. Megan Fox is not toothsome, she's fucking loathsome with a ton of glop on her mug. If you want to see real beauty take a gander at Monica Bellucci in Tears of the Sun or Whitney Able in Monsters. Both sans makeup in gritty situations and both stunningly gorgeous) I just flat out enjoy movies.

Except for a few. I rarely walk out of the theater, metaphorically speaking seeing as they're playing on the computer monitor, and I'll usually just put up with the worst of them to the end. But I've got to mention some cringeworthy efforts that are just so tough to sit through. For various reasons.

I never understood why Gary Cooper was considered a top tiered movie star. There was just something wrong with his delivery in project after project, something slightly off with his timing and dialogue. Cast in flicks where this suited the rest of the picture this attribute fit in fine, like High Noon or For Whom the Bell Tolls, but for the most part his filmography is filled with stinkers, especially in the latter stages of his career when he traded in on his name. The Mrs and I sat through a joke called Dallas last night where yet again Coop just phoned it in. When we both break into laughter and look at each other with rolling eyes we immediately understand we're just in it for the comedic factor.

Some movies are just incredibly hard to watch even when they're really good. About a dozen years ago one came out called Boys Don't Cry, with Hilary Swank and Chloë Sevigny. It's about a transgendered young woman who passes for a guy in a bumfuck Nebraska town, at least for a while. Aside from knowing that it's all going to end quite ugly it's extremely hard viewing. Not for a second did I believe that Hilary Swank looked, acted or sounded like a guy even though all the other actors and actresses went through the motions of being deceived. The disconnect was real hard to take.

Maybe it's because I'm getting older but several contemporary films that became wildly popular just left me looking at my watch, and I ended up doing other things. I really gave The Social Network a good try but Jesse Eisenberg's portrayal of Zuckerberg was so extremely loathsome that I couldn't stand it any more. I heard that The Hangover was laugh out loud boffo stuff but both the Mrs and I didn't find a shred of mirth in that humorless excrement. Now both of those movies get an 8.0 at the Internet Movie Database, a very high rating, so clearly I'm not resonating with younger audiences, but pardon me if repetitive destructive snark doesn't tickle my funny bone. Not very many films move me to click on that big red X, but with hundreds of thousands of others to choose from it's not that big of a disappoint.

Empire's Client States

Obama’s Support for Tyranny in Honduras

" It’s time to acknowledge the foreign policy disaster that American support for the Porfirio Lobo administration in Honduras has become. Ever since the June 28, 2009, coup that deposed Honduras’s democratically elected president, José Manuel Zelaya, the country has been descending deeper into a human rights and security abyss. That abyss is in good part the State Department’s making.

The headlines have been full of horror stories about Honduras. According to the United Nations, it now has the world’s highest murder rate, and San Pedro Sula, its second city, is more dangerous than Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, a center for drug cartel violence.

Much of the press in the United States has attributed this violence solely to drug trafficking and gangs. But the coup was what threw open the doors to a huge increase in drug trafficking and violence, and it unleashed a continuing wave of state-sponsored repression.

The current government of President Lobo won power in a November 2009 election managed by the same figures who had initiated the coup. Most opposition candidates withdrew in protest, and all major international observers boycotted the election, except for the National Democratic Institute and the International Republican Institute, which are financed by the United States."

Secret Evacuation Plan For Tokyo After Fukushima

Spine-chilling' thought of an uninhabitable capital pushed Prime Minister to scrap nuclear power

"The Japanese government feared that millions of Tokyoites might have to be evacuated during the worst of last year's nuclear crisis, but kept the scenario secret to avoid panic in some of the world's most crowded urban areas, according to an internal report.

The 15-page report, by the Japanese Atomic Energy Commission, was delivered to the then-Prime Minister, Naoto Kan, two weeks after the 11 March earthquake and tsunami triggered the crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant.

It warned that if the situation spiralled out of control, compulsory or voluntary evacuation orders would have to be issued to residents living within 250 kilometres (155 miles) of the damaged facility, a radius that would have included the Tokyo metropolitan area that is home to around 30 million people.

The directive would also have covered several large cities to the north and west of the plant, including Sendai. Some of the areas would be contaminated for "several decades", the report warned."

You Will Only Pay Attention To Corporate Whores

The Ron Paul Media Blackout Is Back On

"After a brief spike in interest, the mainstream media coverage of GOP candidate Ron Paul is back to nearly nothing, according to the Pew Research Center's Project for Excellence in Journalism. This week, less than 5 percent of all campaign stories focused on Paul, the lowest point since Dec. 11. when strong performances in Iowa and New Hampshire helped stoke some interest. Over the same period, Paul's performance in the polls has only improved, going from the single digits to 12.7 percent, putting him nearly even with Rick Santorum, in the current RealClearPolitics average.

But in Pew's weekly study, Paul has been heading in the opposite direction. Pew tracks a list of 52 mainstream news outlets across broadcast television, cable news, newspapers, radio and the 12 most popular news sites to measure exposure. As you can see from the graph below, the downward trajectory of coverage volume has been steep for Paul, as the star of New Gingrich rose following his decisive victory in South Carolina and strong polling in Florida."

Get Out Of Urban Areas

Is Now The Time To Move Away From Major U.S. Cities?

"As the U.S. economy falls apart and as the world becomes increasingly unstable, more Americans than ever are becoming "preppers". It is estimated that there are at least two million preppers in the United States today, but nobody really knows. The truth is that it is hard to take a poll because a lot of preppers simply do not talk about their preparations. Your neighbor could be storing up food in the garage or in an extra bedroom and you might never even know it. An increasing number of Americans are convinced that we are on the verge of some really bad things happening. But will just storing up some extra food and supplies be enough? What is going to happen if we see widespread rioting in major U.S. cities like George Soros is predicting? What is going to happen if the economy totally falls to pieces and our city centers descend into anarchy like we saw in New Orleans during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina? In some major U.S. cities such as Detroit, looting is already rampant. There are some sections of Detroit where entire blocks of houses are being slowly dismantled by thieves and stripped of anything valuable. Sadly, the economy is going to get a lot worse than it is at the moment. So is now the time to move away from major U.S. cities? Should preppers be seeking safer locations for themselves and their families? Those are legitimate questions.

According to a recent Gallup poll, satisfaction with the government is now at an all-time low. Americans are rapidly losing faith in virtually every major institution in society.

Anger and frustration are rising to very dangerous levels, and we are rapidly approaching a boiling point.

When people feel as though they have lost everything, they get desperate.

And desperate people do desperate things.

In many communities in the United States today, crime has become so terrifying that people are literally sleeping with their guns.

The following is a story from Rancho Cordova, California that one of my readers recently sent me....

When I first moved here, it was not a bad place, it was quiet and clean.

However, over the past three years this place has gone to the dumps there are thugs and unruly people everywhere.

I have prevented two car break-ins by scaring these thugs away.

While I was home on thanksgiving weekend, someone decided to break into my apartment.

They trashed my place stole all my items and even took my law enforcement (LE) vehicle to include my equipment.

I m sure they had been watching me for a while because they did not take items that contained my identification.

Thank god, I had my weapon with me.

In many areas of the country, law enforcement resources are being dramatically cut back due to budget problems at the same time that crime is rapidly rising.

Right now, the city of Detroit is teetering on the verge of bankruptcy. Officials there recently announced that due to budget constraints, all police stations will be closed to the public for 16 hours a day. From now on, they will only be open to the public from 8 AM to 4 PM.

But in Detroit the police are needed now more than ever. The following is what one British reporter found during his visit to Detroit....

Much of Detroit is horribly dangerous for its own residents, who in many cases only stay because they have nowhere else to go. Property crime is double the American average, violent crime triple. The isolated, peeling homes, the flooded roads, the clunky, rusted old cars and the neglected front yards amid trees and groin-high grassland make you think you are in rural Alabama, not in one of the greatest industrial cities that ever existed.

The population of Detroit is less than half of what it used to be. Over the past few decades people have left in droves, and large sections of the city are in an advanced state of decay.

Not too many people want to buy homes in Detroit now. At this point, the median price of a home in Detroit is just $6000."

Nato's Favorite Despot

Georgia's Mikheil Saakashvili

"Mikheil Saakashvili, some have called him NATO’s favorite despot.

I think that’s an accurate characterization of Mr. Saakashvili, yes.

He made some statements that the Russian Empire is about to collapse.

Yes, he’s been making statements along that line for a couple of weeks, maybe longer. It’s a repeated leitmotif for Mr. Saakashvili, that the Empire – I take it that’s a borrowing from a person he no doubt admired greatly, Ronald Reagan, and his - 30 years ago - his reference to the former Soviet Union as being the Evil Empire. I imagine Saakashvili knows what sort of terminology to use to be picked up in the West, but yesterday he made what were quite characteristic comments that, were they to be made by any other head of state, would certainly raise a few eyebrows around the world, but not when it comes from Mr. Saakashvili. For example, speaking again about Russia, Russia was now, and I quote him, “like crazy,” because Georgia survived the war that it provoked with South Ossetia and Russia in August of 2008. Since he came into power on the back of the so-called “rose revolution” in 2003, Mr. Saakashvili, U.S.-educated incidentally, Columbia graduate, he’s clearly modeled himself after a medieval Georgian monarch, one Davit the Builder, and in his speech yesterday Saakashvlili evoked once again King Davit and Queen Tamara. But then at another point, referring to Russia, and I am quoting this from Civil Georgia, an English-language website from the nation, this is in Georgia’s political reality, “Political vampires, mummies and various monsters will not be able to return” and so forth. This sort of lunatic verbiage is what we’ve come to expect from Mr. Saakashvili, notwithstanding which, however, he remains, as I mentioned, the pet despot of NATO countries, and their political darling outside the Euro-Atlantic area.

Why?

He serves their purposes. He and his regime have recently authorized the deployment of another large military unit of Georgian troops to Afghanistan to serve under NATO’s International Security Assistance Force. When they arrive to join their cohorts already there, the Georgian troop contingent in Afghanistan will be the largest of any non-full NATO member, exceeding even the 1,550 troops that Australia currently has in Afghanistan. So they are providing cannon fodder."

The country will be vital for a sustained assault on Iran. Not only will it be a resupply base but will effectively impede Russian help to their Iranian allies.
That's of course if the Russians allow this. And if the Chinese allow this.

Desperation For WW3

The late Joe Vialls described this scenario in detail in the early oughts, unfortunately all his archives have been taken down. Basically he proposed almost ten years ago that an Israeli Dolphin class submarine would sink a US aircraft carrier in the Strait of Hormuz, precipitating all out war in the middle east, giving the ziofascists the justification to eliminate Israel's last viable obstruction to hegemonic sway over the entire middle east.
With Empire pouring forces into the region, I believe Vialls' prediction is about to come true.
Ask yourself this question - if a US ship is damaged or sunk - would the Iranians be so stupid to invite a massive retaliation or is it a phony ploy to get mouthbreathing americans to support yet another war for Israel?

U.S falls to 47th in press freedom rankings after Occupy crackdown

"Sweeping protests around the world made it an extremely difficult year for the media, and tested journalists as never before, the annual report into press freedom reveals.

The annual report by Reporters Without Borders has been released, showing the United States fell 27 points on the list due to the many arrests of journalists covering Occupy Wall Street protests.

The slide in the United States places it just behind Comoros and Taiwan in a group with Argentina and Romania."

New drone has no pilot anywhere, so who’s accountable?

"The Navy’s new drone being tested near Chesapeake Bay stretches the boundaries of technology: It’s designed to land on the deck of an aircraft carrier, one of aviation’s most difficult maneuvers.

What’s even more remarkable is that it will do that not only without a pilot in the cockpit, but without a pilot at all.

The X-47B marks a paradigm shift in warfare, one that is likely to have far-reaching consequences. With the drone’s ability to be flown autonomously by onboard computers, it could usher in an era when death and destruction can be dealt by machines operating semi-independently."

The campaign to orally lobotomize americans begins

"1945: Grand Rapids, Michigan, becomes the first U.S. city to fluoridate its drinking-water supply.

Fluoridation, implemented as a means of reducing tooth decay, involves adding one part per million of fluoride to the water supply. (The optimum level, according to the Centers for Disease Control, falls between 0.7 and 1.2 ppm.) Fluorine, of which fluoride is a compound, is one of Earth’s most abundant elements, found in almost everything. In mammals, the highest natural concentration of fluoride is found in bones and teeth.

Grand Rapids undertook a study before implementing its fluoridation project, meant to clear up any safety concerns. Fluoride protects tooth enamel but is nevertheless toxic, even potentially lethal, in concentrated form."

When The Bullshit About Iran Is About To Be All Over The Corrupt MSM

A brief history of False Flags

"A short list of all the false flag events used to justify wars, remove civil liberties, and bolster police states throughout human history.

47 BC: Julius Caesar used a series of riots and arson attacks that he paid for and commanded to destabilise the Roman Republic before marching his Legions across the Rubicon and into Rome, where he took power and declared himself Emperor.

64 AD: The Emperor Nero deliberately allowed Rome to be burned in a series of arson attacks in order to blame them upon the emerging Christian sects in order to set them up for persecution as enemies of the state, thus enabling their bloody persecution.

1898 AD: The sinking of the USS Maine, even though it was a tragic accident and not an act of war by Spain, it was used as a False Flag by the American Administration to justify the Spanish-American War.

1914 AD: The Assassination of Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo was blamed on the Bosnians and sparked off the First World War. The Assassins were actually working under the orders of the British Secret Service.

1914-1918 AD: Various riots broke out in Italy during the First World War by factions that were in favour of Italy’s role with the Allies in order to silence dissent against Italy’s continuing participation in military actions against Austria. What is little known is that it was Benito Mussolini’s faction of thugs that sparked off these riots as at this time he was working for MI5 as a British secret service agent.

1933 AD: Rohm’s SA set fire to the Reichstag in order for Hitler to be able to blame it on the Communists, thus enabling him to crack down on his main political rivals with devastating effect, as well as construct his police state in post Weimar Republic Germany. The Reichstag Fire is so infamous in modern history that false flags are often referred to as “Reichstag Events”.

1939 AD: The SS mounted a False Flag event on the border of Poland and Germany so that Hitler could claim that Poland had attacked Germany first in order to justify his invasion of Poland to the German People. This event led directly to the Declaration of War by the United Kingdom and France on Germany, and the start of the Second World War.

1942 AD: After failing to goad Germany into declaring war on America by sinking German U-Boats in the North Atlantic, the American Administration had to find another way to drag an isolationist America into the Second World War. Fortunately for President Roosevelt, the Empire of Japan had just declared that they were joining the Axis Powers and had started their Imperial expansions into the Far East and were therefore already at hot war with both the People’s Republic of China and the Allies. The American Navy moved to harassing Japanese merchant shipping in the Pacific, using their submarines to sink numerous Japanese fuel tankers. Of course, Japan had to react to this covert act of war, and made plans to attack the Americans. Knowing this, the American Navy moved a proportion of their vessels to Hawaii, and due to their having already broken Japanese codes and cyphers, knew full well that the Japanese were planning to attack Pearl Harbour. All they had to do was make sure that the commanders at Pearl Harbour had no idea that an attack by Japan was coming and to let it happen, and a formerly isolationist America would be braying for blood, thus enabling President Roosevelt to lead America into the Second World War. All of the above was declassified in July 2010 and reported in the New York Times of that month.

1964 AD: The Gulf of Tonkin attack that led to America’s involvement in the Vietnam War never actually happened. It was a False Flag in order to get the American People to accept a war in Vietnam. This was declassified in August 2010 and reported in the New York Times of that month.

1969-1996 AD: The Northern Irish Troubles was a Forty Year False Flag operation against the British People by their own government for various geopolitical reasons, not least least of all, the government’s desire to lead the British People into the European Union illegally and against their constitution. MI6 ran the Provisional IRA (PIRA) from its inception, using primary assets within the ruling council of the PIRA to conduct the phony, but bloody, war against the British People. One such asset was Martin McGuinness, formerly the Quartermaster of the Bogside Brigade of the PIRA in Londonderry. Meanwhile, MI5 ran the UDA, UVF, and UFF on the other side of the Sectarian Divide. It is believed by the Alternative Intelligence Community that the Real IRA are currently being run by MI5.

1993 AD: The first attack against the World Trade Center was run by the FBI as a false flag operation. The bomb was cooked by an Arabic Agent under the direct orders of the FBI and handed to the bombers. Fortunately, the bombers did not park their truck bomb right against the wall of the World Trade Centre, thus minimising damage in relation to how much could have been caused if they had actually followed instructions. The Arabic Agent knew that he was being set up and recorded several conversations with FBI agents.

1995 AD: The Oklahoma Bombing could not have been done by a lone bomber with a truck bomb. For a start, they found several explosive devices within the Alfred P. Murrah building after the initial attack which failed to go off. A lone nut could not have managed to plant such sophisticated, military grade, explosives in a government building on his own. There had to be a group of agents with the relevant security clearances to get into the building and rig it with explosives. The truck bomb itself could not have done anywhere near the damage that the actual explosion caused to the building. Local seismic data shows at least three distinct explosions at the Alfred P. Murrah building. Eye witness accounts give witness to strange workmen in the building in the two weeks leading up to the explosion. Eye witnesses also give testimony that Timothy McVeigh was not working alone on that day. Several of the key eye witnesses met with very suspicious ends shortly after the Oklahoma Bombings.

2001 AD: The 9/11 attacks against the United States at the Pentagon and World Trade Centre was a false flag terrorism event by the CIA and Mossad. The body of evidence supporting this is very large indeed, especially with the recent release of 5 tetrabytes of video data from these events by NIST after being sued through an FOIR for it. Testimony on the day from these videos have eye witnesses talking about explosive devices going off throughout the twin towers even before the planes hit, from people inside the buildings at the time, and from First Responders who went in shortly after the planes hit. For further details please refer to my 9/11 Truth section, “Nineteen Eighty-Four Redux: Section One – WAR IS PEACE Part One: The War in Afghanistan“, and WhatReallyHappened.com. The reasons for this False Flag Terrorism Event was to drag America into two illegal wars in the Middle East, as well as severely restrict the civil liberties of the American People.

2005 AD: The 7/7 bombings in London was done by MI5 in order to silence the growing public dissent against the United Kingdom’s continuing role in the illegal Iraq War. The so called bombers were set up as patsies and the three tube bombers were shot some distance from the sites of the attacks at Canary Wharf by government agents."

Pampered Warriors

Diapered U.S. soldiers

"There have been startling reports in the different blogs and websites and media release circulating around “diaper scarcity” or “the US-NATO troops in diapers” over the past couple of weeks.

Few days ago, I came upon an amusingly newsworthy report under the title “diapered soldier” or so that I’d kind of like to share with you.

According to the newspaper reports, the US authorities have quietly and unofficially requested the Pakistani authorities for the immediate provision of the tissue paper and pampers in the recent times.

A diplomatic source and press release said that the highly-secured and well-equipped US-NATO troops can not venture out of the heavily-protected armored personnel carriers to relieve themselves for the fear of facing Mujahideen, as a result, the only option the US-NATO troops are left with is to have on pampers so that they ease themselves comfortably while confronting Taliban.

To put it simply, the latter choice for the US-NATO in case of lack of diapers while fighting Taliban would be quite an embarrassing and humiliating one. Can you imagine what it would be?” pissing their paints during the fight.”!!!

I'll let you into a little secret though; some press release has even revealed that the US-NATO forces uncontrollably pee in their pants during the fight with Mujahideen, or for the fear of attack by Taliban.

Mind you, I, for one, guess it is a fairly good idea for the US-NATO forces to wear diapers without any fear of soiling their uniforms.

So 'Let us not stand between a US soldier and his diaper, as the news reports put it."

Malaysia Ministry seeks recordings of strange noises in sky

"The Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry wants to collect audio recordings of the purported strange noises in the sky heard by residents of Kota Samarahan, Sarawak.

In a Sinar Harian report, Deputy Minister Datuk Fadillah Yusuf said the ministry was collecting as much "evidence" as possible on the bizarre happening so it could submit its report to the National Space Agency (Angkasa) for further investigation.

"This incident is no laughing matter. We hope those who have audio or video recordings of the noises can come forward so we can investigate," said Fadillah, adding that any evidence can be sent to the Petrajaya parliamentary service centre in Jalan Astana, Kuching.

Residents of Kota Samarahan claimed to have heard noises resembling "loud snorings" in the wee hours of Jan 11 and Jan 12, triggering speculations and apocalyptic theories among the fascinated.

The daily reported that residents in Budapest, Hungary and Conklin, Canada had also heard similar peculiar noises in the sky on the same dates.

The daily also quoted international reports saying the strange noises heard globally could have originated from the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) programme, an ionospheric research programme based in Gakona, Alaska in the United States."

My wife heard more sounds in the sky around 3:00 this morning here in the SW.

And of course the "hum" has been around for years. When I lived on the Oregon coast range I just had to put up with it.

LAPD: Joint Military Drills In Downtown LA Won’t Disrupt Public’s ‘Daily Routines’

LOS ANGELES (CBS) —"If you notice a heavy military presence around downtown Los Angeles this week, don’t be alarmed — it’s only a drill.

Joint military training exercises will be held evenings through Thursday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The LAPD will be providing support for the exercises, which will also be held in other portions of the greater Los Angeles area, police said.

Training sites “have been carefully selected to ensure the event does not negatively impact the citizens of Los Angeles and their daily routine,” a department official said.

The training, which a department official said would involve helicopters, has been coordinated with local authorities and owners of the
training sites, police said.

Police said safety precautions have been taken to prevent risk to the general public and military personnel involved.

The exercises are closed to the public, police said.

The exercises are designed to ensure the military’s ability to operate in urban environments, prepare forces for upcoming overseas deployments, and meet mandatory training certification requirements, police said."

What Is A Psychopath?

"The terms sociopath or psychopath often bring to mind images of sadistically violent individuals such as Ted Bundy or the fictional character of Dr. Hannibal "The Cannibal" Lecter in the book and movie The Silence of the Lambs. But I believe the defining characteristic traits of sociopaths actually cover a much broader spectrum of individuals than most of us would ever imagine. The sociopath is that truly self-absorbed individual with no conscience or feeling for others and for whom social rules have no meaning. I believe that most all of us know or have come in contact with sociopathic individuals without even knowing it.

Psychopaths cannot be understood in terms of antisocial rearing or development. They are simply morally depraved individuals who represent the "monsters" in our society. They are unstoppable and untreatable predators whose violence is planned, purposeful and emotionless. The violence continues until it reaches a plateau at age 50 or so, then tapers off.

Their emotionlessness reflects a detached, fearless, and possibly dissociated state, revealing a low-state autonomic nervous system and lack of anxiety. It's difficult to say what motivates them - control and dominance possibly - since their life history will usually show no long-standing bonds with others nor much rhyme to their reason (other than the planning of violence).

They tend to operate with a grandiose demeanor, an attitude of entitlement, an insatiable appetite, and a tendency toward sadism. Fearlessness is probably the prototypical (core) characteristic (the low-fear hypothesis). It's helpful to think of them as high-speed vehicles with ineffective brakes."

"Sociopaths have always existed in varying form and to various degrees. They have been known by various titles. They have been studied using various techniques, and through the years their ailment has been blamed on various causes. But one thing never varies: all sociopaths share three common characteristics. They are all very egocentric individuals with no empathy for others, and they are incapable of feeling remorse or guilt."

I have a family member who I would consider a sociopath. Manipulation and control seems to be her raison d’être. I would tend to think she has no empathy and there's a startling staginess about her demeanor, as if she doesn't actually have real emotions. Sociopaths seem unable to feel for themselves and rely on watching others to get clues on how to act.

How Much Does Piracy Really Cost?

Freakonomics:‘These Figures Were Made Up Out of Thin Air’

"Anti-piracy rhetoric holds that online piracy is a devastating force on the U.S. economy, responsible for the theft of between $200 billion and $250 billion per year and the loss of 750,000 good American jobs. “These numbers seem truly dire: a $250 billion per year loss would be almost $800 for every man, woman, and child in America. And 750,000 jobs – that’s twice the number of those employed in the entire motion picture industry in 2010,” write the economists over at Freakonomics.

But those numbers are wrong, the authors say, citing a breakdown by the Cato Institute’s Julian Sanchez.

In 2010, the Government Accountability Office released a report noting that these figures “cannot be substantiated or traced back to an underlying data source or methodology,” which is polite government-speak for “these figures were made up out of thin air.”

More recently, the Institute for Policy Innovation (IPI) placed the number at $58 billion; but that reporter is methodologically flawed, Mr. Sanchez and tech journalist Tim Lee have deconstructed, and is guilty of double-counting with results that “swell the estimate of piracy losses considerably.”

So, how much is piracy hurting us? “At this point, we simply don’t know,” say the Freakonomists. “It’s clear that, at least in some cases, piracy substitutes for a legitimate transaction… In other cases, the person pirating the movie or song would never have bought it. This is especially true if the consumer lives in a relatively poor country, like China, and is simply unable to afford to pay for the films and music he downloads. Do we count this latter category of downloads as “lost sales”? Not if we’re honest.”

Then there’s the trouble of calculating the impact lost sales have on jobs. Money saved on a DVD is money that consumer is likely to spend elsewhere, possibly creating jobs in the skateboard, cereal or comic book industries."

Just like everything else we're being lied to about piracy. Not only are those numbers pulled out of some propagandist's ass, the whole concept is flawed. Again we have the 99% number where the vast majority of artists benefit from exposure and word of mouth. If you put out good quality your sales will increase. Squawking comes from the very top where overblown and stupid extravaganzas, say like the Pirates franchise or the Potter series, come from. I'm only talking about movies here but I'm sure it's the same for music, if not more so.
Everybody in the industries knows this but wants to keep repeating the lies and demand censorship because there's a fear of loss of control.
There's one interesting thing that goes on this time of year. Producers who think they have award worthy movies send DVD screener copies of their movies to academy members, especially flicks that are released late in the year. They know full well that some of the 6000 members will upload these movies, but being confident of their products they welcome the buzz that results. And buzz does not hurt Oscar recommendations. Of course this boy has been busy watching as many as I can.

You Will Believe Mainstream Fairy Tales

Warning: This Site Contains Conspiracy Theories - Does Google have a responsibility to help stop the spread of 9/11 denialism, anti-vaccine activism, and other fringe beliefs?

"In its early days, the Web was often imagined as a global clearinghouse—a new type of library, with the sum total of human knowledge always at our fingertips. That much has happened—but with a twist: In addition to borrowing existing items from its vast collections, we, the patrons, could also deposit our own books, pamphlets and other scribbles—with no or little quality control.

Such democratization of information-gathering—when accompanied by smart institutional and technological arrangements—has been tremendously useful, giving us Wikipedia and Twitter. But it has also spawned thousands of sites that undermine scientific consensus, overturn well-established facts, and promote conspiracy theories. Meanwhile, the move toward social search may further insulate regular visitors to such sites; discovering even more links found by their equally paranoid friends will hardly enlighten them. Is it time for some kind of a quality control system?"

A truly breathtakingly idiotic piece from Slate.

Vaccinate Your Baby And Get Junk "Food" As A Reward

Health insurance company preys upon the poor with junk food reward program for vaccinating your baby

"Will vaccinate my baby for food!" That seems to be the goal of a program launched last year by the UnitedHealthcare health insurance company of Michigan. It has resorted to enticing parents with junk food to convince them to inject their infants with potentially deadly vaccines containing brain-damaging chemicals. This has been revealed in a letter acquired by NaturalNews and signed by Stephanie Esters, a vaccine-pushing RN who works for UnitedHealthcare.

The letter declares "Get a FREE $20 McDonalds, Rite Aid, Target or Meijer Gift Card when your child gets recommended shots before their second birthday." It even goes on to offer a "FREE ride to the doctor" for those who are so poor that they don't own cars.

Childhood vaccines, of course, are loaded with extremely toxic chemical adjuvants -- chemicals designed to cause neurological inflammation in order to invoke an immunological reaction. Vaccines also contain both mercury and aluminum, both of which are highly toxic brain poisons. This is why many children who are injected with such vaccines become autistic virtually overnight (their brains are poisoned beyond their biological threshold).

While the fundamental science of inoculation is debatable, the adding of neuro-toxic chemicals to today's vaccines -- which are then injected into children in huge numbers (over 100 vaccines given to a typical child) -- turns them into chemical weapons being used to medically assault innocent children. Marrying this chemical weapons program with a junk food incentive program is the height of medical stupidity. It makes about as much sense as eating fried chicken to cure breast cancer."

False Flag Target To Be Conveniently Available In Persian Gulf

US aircraft carriers to deliver 'direct message to Iran'

"In an apparent show of strength, Washington is deploying a second carrier strike group in the Gulf. US officials also confirmed their commitment to maintaining a global fleet of 11 aircraft carriers despite budget pressure to cut the fleet's size.

“That’s the reason we maintain a presence in the Middle East,” AP cited US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, as saying in a speech to about 1,700 sailors aboard the USS Enterprise. “We want them to know that we are fully prepared to deal with any contingency and it’s better for them to try to deal with us through diplomacy.”

Panetta added that the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise is on course for the Persian Gulf – and will steam through the Strait of Hormuz in a direct message to Iran, AP reports."

Why I Fight for Roe

"It was 39 years ago today the Supreme Court ruled in the landmark Roe v. Wade decision that a woman has a legal right to choose, constitutionally protected under the 14th Amendment. Four decades later, generations of young women have come of age under the protection of Roe, securing their health and safety in the most personal decision of their lives, and upholding the dignity of their personal freedom. But four decades later, the issue of woman's right to choose has also become a rallying cry for ideologues, bringing attack after attack against this right and against women's access to full reproductive health care. So 39 years later as we mark Roe's extraordinary impact, we must recognize that a women's legal right to choose is now in as great of jeopardy as it has ever been."

The Battle of Athens Was About Election Fraud And A Police State

When people actually gave a shit about honest elections

"The Battle of Athens (sometimes called the McMinn County War) was a rebellion led by citizens in Athens and Etowah, Tennessee, United States, against the local government in August 1946. The citizens, including some World War II veterans, accused the local officials of political corruption and voter intimidation."

"The primary election was held on August 1. To intimidate voters, Mansfield brought in some 200 armed "deputies." GI poll-watchers were beaten almost at once. At about 3 p.m., Tom Gillespie, an African-American voter, was told by a sheriff's deputy that he could not vote. Despite being beaten, Gillespie persisted. The enraged deputy shot him. The gunshot drew a crowd. Rumors spread that Gillespie had been shot in the back. He later recovered.

Other deputies detained ex-GI poll-watchers in a polling place, as that made the ballot counting "public." A crowd gathered. Sheriff Mansfield told his deputies to disperse the crowd. When the two ex-GIs smashed a big window and escaped, the crowd surged forward. The deputies, with guns drawn, formed a tight half-circle around the front of the polling place. One deputy, "his gun raised high...shouted: 'If you sons of bitches cross this street I'll kill you!'"

Mansfield took the ballot boxes to the jail for counting. The deputies seemed to fear immediate attack by the "people who had just liberated Europe and the South Pacific from two of the most powerful war machines in human history."

Short of firearms and ammunition, the GIs scoured the county to find them. By borrowing keys to the National Guard and State Guard armories, they got three M1 rifles, five M1911 pistols and 24 M1917 rifles. The armories were nearly empty after the war's end. By 8 p.m. a group of GIs and "local boys" headed for the jail but left the back door unguarded to give the jail's defenders an easy way out.

Three GIs were fired on from the jail. Two were wounded while other GIs returned fire. Firing subsided after 30 minutes; ammunition ran low and night had fallen. Thick brick walls shielded those inside the jail. Absent radios, the GIs' rifle fire was uncoordinated. "From the hillside fire rose and fell in disorganized cascades. More than anything else, people were simply shooting at the jail."

Several who ventured into the street in front of the jail were wounded. One man inside the jail was badly hurt; he recovered. Most sheriff's deputies wanted to hunker down and await rescue. Governor McCord mobilized the State Guard, perhaps to scare the GIs into withdrawing. The State Guard never went to Athens. McCord may have feared that Guard units filled with ex-GIs might not fire on other ex-GIs.

At about 2 a.m. on August 2, the GIs forced the issue. Men from Meigs County threw dynamite sticks and damaged the jail's porch. The panicked deputies surrendered. GIs quickly secured the building. Paul Cantrell faded into the night, having almost been shot by a GI who knew him, but whose pistol had jammed. Mansfield's deputies were kept overnight in jail for their own safety. Calm soon returned. The GIs posted guards. The rifles borrowed from the armory were cleaned and returned before sunup."

NDAA Is Washington's Totalitarian Response To Political Dissent And Economic Collapse

"All we have to do is remember who we are. We are not Germans. We're not peasants in China. We're not peasants in Russia. We have a legacy and a history of fighting for liberty. Americans have always fought for liberty. And we will fight again. So we will not be the Fourth Reich. We will not let that happen. Not without a fight." - Stewart Rhodes, founder of Oath Keepers, speaking on the Alex Jones show on January 12, 2012.

"I spent many years in countries where the military had the power to arrest and detain citizens without charge. I have been in some of these jails. I have friends and colleagues who have “disappeared” into military gulags. I know the consequences of granting sweeping and unrestricted policing power to the armed forces of any nation. And while my battle may be quixotic, it is one that has to be fought if we are to have any hope of pulling this country back from corporate fascism." - Chris Hedges, "Why I’m Suing Barack Obama," Truthdig, January 16, 2012.

An analysis of the passage of the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) must start from the premise that since September 11, 2001, the hijacked U.S. government has been at war with America.

As they say, it's nothing personal, it's just business.

The American people are a big liability for the political and corporate elite who are openly hostile towards the U.S. constitution and Bill of Rights. America is dead to them because the reality is that America and all nation states no longer matter.

Western elites favour technocratic regional unions, a world fascist economy, and authoritarian policing. Towards the fulfillment of their "new world order," they have destroyed democracy, social welfare programs, free market competition, and civil liberties.

The treasonous hijackers in Washington gained their war footing against the American people in the 1980s and 1990s, two decades which saw the privatization of the prison system, the militarization of the police, the betrayal of the American middle class, and the consolidation of the American media.

The ideological build-up of "domestic terrorism" and "international terrorism," was also necessary to the process of the centralization of power and destruction of the U.S. constitution by Washington's secret rulers. The false flag terror attacks in Oklahoma City and New York City were instrumental in pushing this process over legal obstacles as well as public, congressional, and bureaucratic resistance.

It can be argued that Oklahoma and New York - two cities which are poles apart from each other - were chosen by the state terrorists to emphasize that Middle America and the heart of the empire both share a deep sense of vulnerability and insecurity. It was psychological warfare at its finest. The enemy of "terrorism," which is a total invention, was solidified as a real threat in the minds of the American people through recurrent acts of state terrorism.

The political and moral bankruptcy of Washington's counter-terrorism policies are further unmasked when it is revealed, as the NDAA plainly does, that American citizens are the targets of counter-terrorism laws and the counter-terrorism bureaucracy."
