When Dictators Get What They Deserve

Twenty years ago the Romanian despot Nicolae Ceausescu and his wife were executed on xmas day.

it is funny to see that this was the only eastern country dictator executed at that time.
Is it that he knew too much?

I've thought about that too. But then I remembered that at the time all those countries that shook off totalitarian regimes did so in their own way, completely different from each other. I remember watching each eastern bloc country, one after another, do it in a different manner.
I imagine it's possible Ceausescu was targeted for elimination a la Milošević in Yugoslavia. We really only see the tip of the iceberg.

if I was in the secret services of one of the counties that allowed Ceausescu to stay in the power for so many years, I would have thought about all the future interviews (from jail, possibly) that he would have made (or books, biography, memories...) etc...
Better to pay someone to execute him
