Cops Beat Portland Man To An "Excited Delirium" Death
"Three officers arrested Chasse, 42, on Sept. 17, 2006, after one of the officers said Chasse appeared to be urinating in the street. There was no evidence that he had urinated in the street. Police said he ran when they approached. They chased him, knocked him to the ground and struggled to handcuff him.
Medics called to the scene did not take him to a hospital, saying Chasse's vital signs were normal. But jail staff refused to book him because of his physical condition. Chasse, who suffered from schizophrenia, died while being taken to the hospital in a police car. The medical examiner said he died of broad-based blunt-force trauma to the chest.
Had Chasse received proper medical attention, he probably would have lived, according to Dr. Karen Gunson, the state medical examiner, answering questions in a deposition.
The autopsy found Chasse suffered 26 breaks to 16 ribs, some of which punctured his left lung, and 46 separate abrasions or contusions. In the autopsy report, Gunson made no mention of "excited delirium" as she has in other Oregon cases."
Couple Arrested for Refusing to Pay Tip
"If you’re frustrated by poor service at a restaurant, think twice before you decide to not tip. You may be in for a bit more than just a dirty look from the waiter.
"Nobody, nobody wants to be forced to pay a tip or be arrested for terrible service," Leslie Pope said when her happy hour ended in handcuffs.
Pope and John Wagner were hauled away by police and charged with theft for not paying the mandatory 18 percent gratuity totaling $16 after eating at the Lehigh Pub in Bethlehem, Pa. with six friends.
Pope claimed that they had to wait nearly an hour for their order and that she had to get napkins and silverware for the table herself.
“At this point I became very annoyed because I had already gone up to the bar myself to have my soda refilled because the waitress never came back,” Pope said.
After the $73 bill came, the group paid for food, drinks, and tax but refused to pay the tip. After explaining the bad service to the bartender in charge, Pope claimed he took their money and called police. The couple was handcuffed and placed in the back of a police car."

Roy C. Sun, 21, a senior in the College of Engineering from Andover, Mass., faces preliminary charges of terroristic mischief and possession of stolen property. An employee at the center, 504 Northwestern Ave., which also houses Parking Services, alerted police at about 7:50 a.m. about a suspicious box left in a hallway by three college-age men. Police evacuated about 10 people from the building and used a portable X-ray machine to identify the box's contents. The box contained a wheel look, a Purdue parking ticket and $20, Detective Sgt. Matt Rosenbarger said."

They have got to be kidding. This may set a precedent for the arrest of every package delivery person in the states.
