Backdoor Gun Confiscation

Fascists and their minions want to disarm you and me. They want us cowed, subservient and fearful, meekly allowing their security goons to have their way with us while maintaining a rigidly enforced police state. But they know outright confiscation would get violent pretty quickly. Their solution? Chip away at our inherent rights and really go after our ammunition.

Group asks states to track citizens’ ammo

"Legislation to trace ammunition is pending in several states, and many gun owners are concerned that it is just another attempt by anti-gun groups to violate citizens’ Second Amendment rights.
An organization known as Ammunition Accountability is pushing to make coding technology mandatory across the nation. Its website claims it is a group of “gun crime victims, industry representatives, law enforcement, public officials, public policy experts, and more” who are “saving lives one bullet at a time.”
If states pass the legislation, manufacturers will be required to laser etch a serial number into the back of each bullet and the inside of cartridge casings, a patented process developed by Seattle, Wash., resident Russ Ford and his business partners, Steve Mace and John Knickerbocker
."

There's so much wrong with this that it's laughable, if the intent wasn't so malicious.
The ostensible reason to code bullets and cartridges is to trace ammo used in a crime back to the person who bought it. The real reason to mandate this is to make ammunition so prohibitively expensive and to institute regulations so complicated that we wouldn't be able to own it.
If laws like this were passed we would have to dispose of all uncoded ammo by a certain date. Yeah right.
Many shooters pack their own cartridges.
You could simply file away the code.
Go to any range and pick up spent casings that someone else fired.
And anybody with bad intent will just use stolen or borrowed ammo. Or revolvers with shotshells. Revolvers don't leave spent casings at a crime scene.
A lot of high speed ammunition is obliterated on impact.
But all this reality doesn't matter, because the real effort is to tie gun ownership and our ability to defend ourselves up in such convoluted knots that we'd just give up.
Watch taxes go through the roof soon.
Coming at us through the back door.

so many of the obama supporter's don't see this, do they? they think it's right-wing hysteria when in fact it's a trend that's been in place for some time.

and now we're seeing programs taking advantage of the vulnerable, where local police ask folks to trade in their guns for food cards. it's a deplorable practice.

You know Neener, there's one thing that I never understood, and that's the so called liberal opposition to gun ownership. I suspect that like so much in the political world it's a made up straw dog, meant for political control and to sow division.
That guns for food crap is also a complete lie. All the info I've come across in the past had it that people only brought in rusty garbage and parts. We have to ask ourselves: Who in their right mind would trade several hundreds of dollars worth of firearm for a hundred dollars worth of food?
