Hatemongers' Spawn

That murderer who took a shotgun to a church and blasted nine people is getting a lot of play in the media about hating liberals and gays. My thoughts are that his dire economic condition helped drive an unstable basket case to the brink.
We should never point to reading matter as evidence of intent before a crime is ever committed, like when people are yanked off of airplanes for the title of the book they might be reading. But it's another thing completely to indict malice and mayhem spewers who could be responsible for encouraging violent murder. As in delivering a steady diet of hate to push sick people over the edge.

"Adkisson told officers he left the house unlocked for them because "he expected to be killed during the assault."

Inside the house, officers found "Liberalism is a Mental Health Disorder" by radio talk show host Michael Savage, "Let Freedom Ring" by talk show host Sean Hannity, and "The O'Reilly Factor," by television talk show host Bill O'Reilly."

Savage: "Free Speech for Me, Death for You"

"Savage enjoys speaking freely on his show and dishing out the red meat that his 3.75 million radio listeners love to hear. He has amassed a lavish record of on-air bigotry -- dismissing child victims of gunfire as "ghetto slime," referring to non-white countries as "turd world nations," calling homosexuality "perversion" and remarking that Latinos "breed like rabbits."
However, Savage doesn’t think some people deserve to have free speech. In fact, he apparently doesn’t think that some people even have the right to live. Like when he a told a gay caller to his short lived TV show on MSNBC "to get AIDs and die."

Radio talk show host calls for murder of anti-war activist

"Michael Reagan, radio talk show host and son of late president Ronald Reagan, could be investigated by the FBI after he called for the execution of Mark Dice, anti-war activist and founder of media watchdog group The Resistance, on the air. (...)
“We ought to find the people who are doing this,” Reagan said, “take ‘em out, and shoot ‘em. Really."

How many other acts of violence, murders, could be tied to these scumbags?

I don't have any of those books but I'm sure millions do - and they don't go grabbing guns and murder people.

I find your attempt to tie a murderer to free speech to be an act of hate, and your labeling of individuals as "scumbags" reinforces your hate.

BTW - homosexuality is a "perversion" (although I'm against government dictating morals) Latinos DO "breed like rabbits." - just check the facts with reputable organizations like the PEW institute or the Census department.

Sounds like just another liberal attempt to spin the actions of a murderer into something that it is not.

Don Imus gets fired for one ugly comment, but Savage, O'Reilly, Limbaugh and others get to carry on.

We're influenced by what we experience (read, see, etc. etc.). We have a responsibility when we're a public figure, in terms of what we say and advocate. When we have Savage et.al (or anybody for that matter--left or right of politics/social issues) advocating for violence and death to certain individuals, they MUST hold some accountability in such situations.

Isn't is interesting when some people put the "hate" label on others with whom they disagree? A civilized society is able to disagree w/o such labeling. Or at least once done, they realize their error and apologize for promoting the very thing they are accusing others of.

Free speech, jdog? It's excusable to call for other people to die, to kill them, because, hey, that's free speech? But nah, that would never influence behavior. Oh wait.
Let's see how far someone would get calling for Bush to be shot. Hey, that's free speech, right?
Fact is that advocating violence when you have a public megaphone will influence the vulnerable and weak minded, which apparently was the case with this murdering fool.
