Your Papers Please

Here comes the national ID card and there goes our freedom.

"Lawmakers called for stricter identification requirements after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The Department of Homeland Security points out that the hijackers in those attacks obtained 30 drivers licenses and used 364 aliases."

What a crock. No evidence exists that any hijackers went on those flights that day. No airport video. No names on the flight manifests. The liars gave us names, that's all, and funny how at least seven are alive and scratching their heads at the unwarranted attention. But you'll need to carry an identity card to live in your own country because the fascists want to know everything about you and where you go and what you do.

What bothers me is the RFID chip they plan on putting in the card. That is totally 1984.

Wonder what they'd do to us if we decided to burn the dang things in a major public protest?

Probly kill us all and tell the world we were terrorists.

This would all have seemed laughably paranoid when I was a kid, but with a remotely readable chip and the requirement that you carry the ID at all times, they could literally track your movements all day and all night.

It gives the police an excuse to stop you and arrest you without probable cause or without you having done a damned thing.

Yep, it's like 1984 only with much better technology.

They want to know everything and have the high tech now to store all the data. Soon I think we'll be hoping for X class flares to fry all the satellites and electronics.
