One of the best series that I've come across from BBC television is The Life Of Birds from 1998 with David Attenborough. If you think you know how complex and interesting birds can be, be prepared to think again. It's long and comprehensive with ten episodes, and I was astounded throughout by how much fascinating stuff I was simply unaware of. Attenborough is a terrific presenter for this material as he travels the world with camera crews that capture footage that I guarantee will knock your socks off. Netflix has the 3 disc series, I don't know about Blockbuster
If you like nature presentations this can't be more highly recommended. The IMDB rating is 9.4, which tells you something right there.

Bedbug epidemic attacks New York City

"A bedbug epidemic has exploded in every corner of New York City - striking even upper East Side luxury apartments owned by Gov. Spitzer's father, the Daily News has learned.
(...)
"In the last six months, I've treated maternity wards, five-star hotels, movie theaters, taxi garages, investment banks, private schools, white-shoe law firms, Brooklyn apartments in Greenpoint, DUMBO and Cobble Hill, even the chambers of a federal judge," said Jeff Eisenberg, owner of Pest Away Exterminating on the upper West Side."

Any Real Threat To The Empire Is Dealt With Harshly

And The CIA Will Use Democrats To Help Destroy Ron Paul

"When Bill Clinton was first running for President, he had a revolutionary challenger in the Democratic Primary, named Jerry Brown. Brown had been the former Governor of California, as well as the State Chair of the California Democratic Party. He had been revolutionary, pushing hard for labor rights for farmworkers to protect them from agri-industrial poisons, he’d funded those large wind energy projects along the length of California, and had introduced satellite conference calls to California Government. The corporate interests he threatened needed to divorce this man of the people, this man of vision . . . from the people he served so well. So, they called him “Governor Moon Beam."

The name caught on. What it was in reference to, although few in the media or public looked beyond that funny name as they laughed at Brown, was Brown’s idea of using satellite phone technology for meetings. Rather than having state legislators fly back to Sacremento everytime they needed to meet, they could use this new technology and save time, energy, etc. Of course today, everyone, all companies use this technology, and it was brilliant back then. But, “Governor Moonbeam” was the label some bright boys hired by the corporate powers Brown was slapped with. It made people laugh at him. It worked."

And now Ron Paul?

"What I find the saddest, is that Liberals and Progressives, who’ve I’ve worked side by side with in anti-war and human rights causes . . . will bleat like sheep, and parrot all the character assassinations the CIA plants in their corporate media lackey’s mouths. It will be liberals and progressives who will turn on the last greatest hope we have of saving our democracy and ending the brutal CIA run global corporate empire.

After 9/11, when the Democrats were licking the boots of Bush and the neo-cons, there was one shining knight who stood tall against them. Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney demanded to know what happened to the $2.3 TRILLION Rumsfeld said the Pentagon "lost." She demanded to know more about the connections between Bush and the Bin Laden family, and she demanded to know who ordered the mysterious war games to be held coincidentally on 9/11/2001, and why they were not called off when the attacks began.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RvLL--vSsA

For her courage her own Democratic Party leaders turned on her or turned away from her as the CIA controlled media hounds were unleashed upon her. This brave woman is now the Green Party Candidate, and if she garners the kind of support Ron Paul has, the CIA controlled media will turn on her again. And as before, the Democratic leadership will parrot the media's attacks on her. Suddenly, I wake up and can hardly believe that I ever knew these people in the first place. It’s like invasion of the body snatchers, and they are all screaming their alarms at Ron Paul, the one candidate who has not been replaced with the soul of a CIA militarist pod."

I don't believe that the presidential election next year, if it happens at all, will be any different from all the corrupted elections since the Bushistas stole the white house in 2000. The filth that took over this country has an agenda and has worked too hard for it to be derailed. We have to be presented with the illusion of democracy, however, so the manipulators trotted out the usual dog and pony campaign show presented to us by the wretched MSM.

The one thing the fascists didn't count on was the way Paul's campaign took off into the stratosphere. He is scaring the shit out of our overlords. I still don't believe anyone like him will get near the white house, but if there was ever an anti-empire message that should be injected into the public consciousness at this time, it's his. The execrable MSM headed by Fox has laughably tried to marginalize it and plan B to destroy someone is to go on the offensive. If he does well in the first polling extravaganzas look for him to be attacked unmercifully. And if that doesn't do it they will always consider the Wellstone option.

Disappearing A Candidate

Ham fisted and idiotic Faux Noise up to it's slimy gatekeeper tricks again. They've been doing it all year long. Remember the sickening huzzahs for torture from a pre screened Fox audience back in May? Exposing this propaganda organ for the fascists is exposing how the entire election process is a repulsive fraud.

Ron Paul excluded from Fox News forum

"Republican fund raising frontrunner Ron Paul will apparently be excluded from a Fox News Forum scheduled for just two days before the New Hampshire Primary.Paul’s campaign said "According to the New Hampshire State Republican Party and an Associated Press report, Republican presidential candidate and Texas Congressman Ron Paul will be excluded from an upcoming forum of Republican candidates to be broadcast by Fox News on January 6, 2008." The decision appears to have been made by Fox News."

Paul: Fox News is 'scared of me'

"PLAISTOW, N.H. -- Ron Paul said the decision to exclude him from a debate on Fox News Sunday the weekend before the New Hampshire Primary is proof that the network "is scared" of him.
"They are scared of me and don't want my message to get out, but it will," Paul said in an interview at a diner here. "They are propagandists for this war and I challenge them on the notion that they are conservative."

Brattleboro To Arrest Bush And Cheney On Sight

Vermont Town Seeks Arrest of Bush and Cheney for War Crimes

"President Bush may soon have a new reason to avoid left-leaning Vermont: In one town, activists want him subject to arrest for war crimes.more stories like thisA group in Brattleboro is petitioning to put an item on the Town Meeting agenda in March that would make Bush -- who's been to every state except Vermont as president -- and Vice President Cheney subject to arrest and indictment if they visit the southeastern Vermont town."

This is what it will eventually come down to in the end, unless the fascists push the martial law button. They can't travel abroad without bringing entire armies, they don't dare go to public venues without crowds booing them, they have to resort to vetted, hand picked audiences at speeches where they get asked softball questions they know in advance.

They know they're criminals, they know the extent of their murderous treason and they don't care. They know they'll be protected and coddled by private praetorian guard and they're also smug about the despicable MSM covering their sorry asses at every turn. Spineless congress traitors have repeatedly shown that rocking this profitable scumboat isn't on the table, so it's up to us to make the entire country a no-fly zone where they don't dare step foot.

Getting Harder These Days To Blame The Patsies

But what about the rash of deadly sunroof lever bumps?

Bullet wound was seen on Benazir’s head

"ISLAMABAD: "There was a bullet wound I saw that went in from the back of her head and came out the other side," Bhutto's spokeswoman Sherry Rehman, who was involved in washing her body for burial, said.

The government blamed Bhutto's killing on al-Qaida and Taliban militants operating with increasing impunity in the lawless tribal areas along the border with Afghanistan."This is ridiculous, dangerous nonsense because it is a cover-up of what actually happened," Sherry Rehman said referring to government claim."

breaking - Remains may be exhumed - "The Pakistani government has no problem with officials from Benazir Bhutto's political party exhuming the slain opposition leader's body if they see a need to do so, an Interior Ministry spokesman said Saturday."

Sets up "sacramental SWAT" squads to spar with rival Satan's Minions

"The Pope has ordered his bishops to set up exorcism squads to tackle the rise of Satanism.
Vatican chiefs are concerned at what they see as an increased interest in the occult.
They have introduced courses for priests to combat what they call the most extreme form of "Godlessness."
Each bishop is to be told to have in his diocese a number of priests trained to fight demonic possession.
The initiative was revealed by 82-year-old Father Gabriele Amorth, the Vatican "exorcistinchief," to the online Catholic news service Petrus.
"Thanks be to God, we have a Pope who has decided to fight the Devil head-on," he said

What Will It Be Like When The Current Tools Exit?

The PTB are six moves ahead in this chess game.

The Post-Bush Regime: A Prognosis by Richard K. Moore

"The neocons have accomplished much for their elite puppeteers, and have been given in return free reign to loot at will, funneling all those billions for the Iraq War into their own corporate coffers and investment portfolios. They for their part have established the foundations of a fascist state in the US and Canada, secured Iraq’s oil reserves, built permanent forward mega-bases in Iraq, successfullly destabilized Iraq and prepared it for balkanization, secured pipeline routes in Afghanistan, restored the profitable opium trade, and made progress toward achieving the first-strike capability that will be needed when the time comes to take on Russia and China. Quite a bundle of major achievements in a very short time indeed. But to our clique, the question always is, “What have you done for me lately, Sunshine?”

Possible Reason For Bhutto's Death?

Check out what she says in passing at the 6:10 mark.

Quickie Observation About Bhutto's Assasination

"We do not deal with justice here, but with the law"

There's one very good thing about getting into classic films - there's a whole lot of gems out there waiting for you.

Just a short blurb about a flick called The Kingdom. Mrs. Lipstick and I sat down to watch this dog tonight and I seldom stop before experiencing the whole production, but dumped it after about fifteen minutes. It wasn't the a priori acceptance of 9/11 lies or the stumblebum rush to present Good vs Evil. We stopped watching because if we wanted to experience shaky camera work with headache inducing editing and cartoonish characters then we'll turn on one of the gazillion available crappy TV crime dramas.

The Melville novella turned stage play turned big screen Billy Budd, from 1962, was directed by Peter Ustinov. He also starred in it with Robert Ryan, John Neville, Melvyn Douglas and ridiculously young looking Terence Stamp and David McCallum. Shot entirely on a restored man o' war vessel it tells the tale of a merchantman impressed into service aboard a British warship who confronts a truly sick officer with dire results. Magnificent acting from all and a tour de force from director Ustinov. Apparently the author wrote the book inspired by his brother who presided over a sailor's court martial who faced hanging for insubordination.

It's a simple story but an astoundingly deep one nonetheless, for when the saintly Budd kills the lying weasel of an officer, dependably played by a snarling Ryan, it forces everyone on board the ship to make hard decisions. Do you follow orders and play by the strict letter, if not the spirit, of the law or do you make decisions based on what's right and just regardless of what the law dictates? This film reminded me of a similarly sparse outing from a few years earlier called "12 Angry Men" with Henry Fonda, only in reverse. On board the warship messiah-like sailor Budd is revered by all so who can blame him for the unintentional death of a universally hated captain of arms? In Fonda's court deliberation room most of the jury finds it an easy no brainer to call a slum kid a murderer. But wait. In both cases some pesky details force a lot more soul searching than reaching for expeditious or expedient decisions.

On board ship the situation is compounded by the fact Britain is in a war with France and the captain makes decisions with that reality in mind. Discipline is everything to the people in charge during tough times like that - if the crew has to undergo hardships, punishment and loss of liberty, well, everybody must realize they're at war and the enemy could show up at any time.

Where have we heard that before?

That quote at the top is said by one of the guys who decides the sailor's fate. We're all going to have to make very tough decisions very soon. The law of the land has been subverted by lawless criminals. They've taken over the government and are busy passing unconstitutional and illegal laws which at some point in the not too distant future we will have to choose whether to obey or not. We're going to be in the same uncomfortable position as the officers at Billy Budd's tribunal. Are we going to stick to rules we know aren't just, or are we going to do what's right?

Police academy class slogan: Cause PTSD

"BOISE, Idaho - A state police academy leader has disavowed the slogan of the most recent graduating class urging one another to "go out and cause" post-traumatic stress disorder.

Each class at the Idaho Police Officer Standards and Training Academy is allowed to choose a slogan that is printed on its graduation programs, and the class of 43 graduates came up with "Don't suffer from PTSD, go out and cause it."

Rinaldi, 45, had taken part in every re-enactment of Washington's crossing of the Delaware since 1976, amassed more than 500 books on the American Revolution and earned a degree in U.S. military history.

But this year, he and his fellow re-enactors were done in by the river's strong currents."

Huckabee's Buds

It may be just because it's Xmas season,
(And allow me to stop for a second to say something. Contrary to know nothing right wing christianists, xmas isn't a slur. In fact it's one of the oldest abbreviations in the english language:
"The "X" stands for the Greek letter chi, the initial in the name Xristos (Khristos equals Christ).
In Latin manuscripts, Christus was often abbreviated by using the first two letters of Greek Christos, chi (X) and rho (P).")

but I'm sure seeing a huge push to shove religion in our lives. Sometimes I monitor the local AM foxified radio station and it was just chock a block christianity, more so than I've ever heard. What's going on? Are we being set up for some final holy war with muslims?

Huckabee's apparent (and I enter this caveat because the Huckster's recent big splash may have a tie in to all the holy water being sprayed on us in the media) rise in the polls means he get's more scrutiny and if a person should be judged by the friends he keeps, maybe his unapologetic aw shucks christo-demeanor is a tad more sinister than it appears.

Huckabee has close ties to a guy named Bill Gothard, an ordained minister and founder and director of a place called Institute in Basic Youth Conflicts located in the Chicago area. It isn't hyperbole to say that his organization is one of the most seriously insane xtian off shoots I've heard about. You may have come across this name just recently as the New Life Church shooter who went on a rampage several weeks ago was a Gothard protegee:

"Matthew J. Murray, the spree shooter in the Arvada missionary shooting and New Life Church shooting, was homeschooled and raised by his parents according to Gothard's teachings. Murray blamed this strict, isolated upbringing and Gothard personally for his mental and social problems in Internet postings in forums where other Gothard critics and former organization members would gather."

Photobucket
Mike and Bill at Houston fundraiser

Gothard's teachings may be, um, sort of radical, even to hard core bible thumpers. No divorce under any circumstance, strict authoritarianism and blind obedience, womenfolk not allowed to work outside the home, and demonic cabbage patch dolls. Recalcitrant children who "misbehave" get the prayer closet treatment:

"...the prayer closet is a little room where kids are taken when they disobey staff at the Indianapolis Training Center (ITC). Once locked inside, the misbehaving youths are forced to sit and pray to Jesus, sometimes for days at a time. Some juvenile ITC residents have said the evangelical Christian teens and young adults who staffed the center sometimes forbade them from going to the bathroom, forcing them to sit in their own urine for hours. Some have complained of beatings with paddles by untrained staff that left bruises and welts. When not in isolation, the kids are forced to march and chant and pray, with gospel music playing almost constantly."

Much more about Gothard and his christian empire can be found here.

Politicians seem to feel the need to ingratiate themselves with proponents of this aberrant if not insane behavior and Mike Huckabee appears to be tied at the hip with Gothard, going back all through his governorship of Arkansas. The two disciplines, pun intended, politics and religion have found common cause in our slide down fascism's slippery slope. If Huckabee gets anywhere near the white house one wonders if we'd have little prayer room treatments of our own sometime in the future.
And to answer my own question, yeah, I believe we're being set up for a worldwide war against muslims, hence the steady little drummer boy for jesus always playing softly in the background.

Mittster The Megalomaniac

by Glenn Greenwald at Salon

"Mitt Romney's pursuit of tyrannical power, literally

In yet another superb piece of journalism, the peerless Charlie Savage of The Boston Globe submitted to the leading presidential candidates a questionnaire asking their views on 12 key questions regarding executive power. Savage's article accompanying the candidates' responses makes clear why these matters are so critical:

In 2000, George W. Bush and Dick Cheney were not asked about presidential power, and they volunteered nothing about their attitude toward the issue to voters. Yet once in office, they immediately began seeking out ways to concentrate more unchecked power in the White House -- not just for themselves, but also for their successors. . . .
Legal specialists say decisions by the next president -- either to keep using the expanded powers Bush and Cheney developed, or to abandon their legal and political precedents -- will help determine whether a stronger presidency becomes permanent.
"The sleeper issue in this campaign involves the proper scope of executive power," said Richard Epstein, a University of Chicago law professor.

All of the leading Democrats -- Edwards, Dodd, Biden, Clinton, Richardson and Obama -- submitted responses, as did Mitt Romney, John McCain and Ron Paul. Refusing to respond to the questions were -- revealingly -- Giuliani, Thompson and Huckabee. Significantly, if not surprisingly, all of the candidates who did respond, with the exception of Romney, repudiated most of the key doctrines of the Bush/Cheney/Addington/Yoo theories of executive omnipotence, at least for purposes of this questionnaire. I'll undoubtedly write more about those responses shortly.

But by far the most extraordinary answers come from Mitt Romney. Romney's responses -- not to some of the questions but to every single one of them -- are beyond disturbing. The powers he claims the President possesses are definitively -- literally -- tyrannical, unrecognizable in the pre-2001 American system of government and, in some meaningful ways, even beyond what the Bush/Cheney cadre of authoritarian legal theorists have claimed."

Zero Coverage Of Tribe Secession In MSM

This story of secession from all treaties by the Lakota Sioux interests me a great deal. On Dec.20 the news that activist Russel Means and other tribal representatives formally delivered a statement of "unilateral withdrawal" to the feds in Washington made a brief appearance in the news, and then the story was dropped. Not surprising since it is Xmas after all and we get the obligatory shopping blather and previously planned year end wrap ups.

It's actually a great example of contemporary news coverage, and it can go a lot of different ways. If it is a legitimate secession movement it's a blockbuster story with tremendous significance to law and other separatist movements all over the world. The despicable MSM apparently took orders from above and have shelved the story. There have been disparaging remarks made about Means and the declaration, saying he's a publicity hound and that he doesn't speak for the Sioux nation. But two things are wrong with that - when news breaks that disturbs the PTB the messenger is always attacked, and Sioux nation elders have yet to disavow this declaration.

Means and his delegation seemed to have picked their timing well. I'm sure their decision was swayed by the UN outlawing discrimination against indigenous people back in September.

Treatment of the Sioux by the US government has been nothing short of violently criminal. Even if this movement eventually goes nowhere it may help enlighten people who don't know their own government's vicious and illegal history:

"The Lakota (Brother) Peoples were a confederacy of twelve tribes who inhabited the high plains from Western Wisconsin to Eastern Montana, and from South Dakota north into Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The Lakota spoke a Siouxan language and, along with many other tribes who were not Lakota, they were referred to by the French Canadian fur trappers who were the first Europeans to meet them, as the “Sioux.”

In 1869 several of the Lakota tribes met with the United States representatives to negotiate a treaty at Fort Laramie, which the U.S promptly began violating. The treaty set up what was called “The Great Sioux Reservation,” which, at that time, included most of North and South Dakota and part of eastern Montana. Other Lakota tribes living farther east, who were collectively called the “Dakota,” had already signed treaties on their own with the U.S. several years before. In that treaty the U.S. agreed to respect the territorial soverginty of the western Sioux Nations.
But when the government needed to put the Northern Pacific Railroad through the Great Sioux Reservation, and the deal with the railroad was a gift of every other section (a square mile) of land in a checkerboard pattern fifteen miles deep both north and south of the tracks, from St. Paul Minisota to the Puget Sound, which the railroad could use for lumbering, mining, and sale to settlers, then the government needed to take back a big hunk of the reservation.

A plot was worked out that involved General Philip Sheridan and Colonel George Custer, and several other leading officials in the Territory to fake a gold discovery in the Black Hills, which were the most sacred lands on earth to the Lakota, the sacred Paha Sapa, the center of the world. A supposedly innocent survey party arranged the gold discovery using a few lumps of quartz, a hand-full of placer gold dust from Montana, and a shot gun, and when they returned to civilization with the evidence they deliberately let everyone know about it in the newspapers, thus starting a massive gold rush. The Lakota, of course, defended their lands against the invading gold hunters, and the U.S. Army, of course, was called in to protect the gold seakers, not the Indians. This started the war that culminated in the Little Bighorn massacre, and the flight of about half of the Sioux peoples into Canada that winter. The United States then terminated the Great Sioux Reservation and replaced it with a double hand-full of very small reservations scattered across the territory on some of the worst land the government could find."

License And Registration Please. And Your Finger

Police Begin Fingerprinting on Traffic Stops

"If you're ticketed by Green Bay police, you'll get more than a fine. You'll get fingerprinted, too. It's a new way police are cracking down on crime.
If you're caught speeding or playing your music too loud, or other crimes for which you might receive a citation, Green Bay police officers will ask for your drivers license and your finger. You'll be fingerprinted right there on the spot. The fingerprint appears right next to the amount of the fine."

It seems according to the story there might somewhere be a rash of phony IDs and so "it's meant to protect you", a stupidly phony reason. Since this report states that the cop doesn't take a copy the only reason for this appears to be another way to get us used to a total police state, where we have zero privacy and we worry that everything we do is recorded and scrutinized.

Molecule Of The Year: Cannabiodiol

Banned by the feds for the company it keeps by Fred Gardner

"THC -delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol- is not the only active ingredient in cannabis. At least five other cannabinoids exhibit biological activity, and so do some terpenes and flavonoids. All these compounds are found in the resin stored in the plant's glandular trichomes. They are chemically related. THC predominates in plants bred for psychoactivity (as cannabis plants have been bred for generations in California and elsewhere). Cannabidiol -CBD- is the predominant cannabinoid in plants typically bred for fiber. There are only trace quantities of CBD in high-THC plants because one form of the same gene codes for THC synthase and the other codes for CBD synthase. Thus growers selecting for high THC content get low CBD.

California growers hoping to develop plants with a high CBD-to-THC ratio have been stymied by lack of access to an analytical test lab. In surreptitious tests, "high grade" buds were reportedly in the range of 15-20% THC and 0.1% CBD.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration has placed CBD on Schedule I even though CBD has no known adverse effects and doesn't induce "euphoria." The most dire effects attributed to marijuana -tachycardia (accelerated heartbeat), panic, confusion, anxiety, even psychosis- are effects of THC that CBD has been shown to mitigate!

By listing CBD as a Schedule 1 substance and denying growers the means to develop high-CBD plant strains, the government is protecting the American people from an immunomodulator with anti-inflammatory, anti-convulsant, anti-psychotic, anti-oxidant, and neuro-protective properties. In whose interests could that possibly be?"

Brits Blowing Up, Torching Spy Cameras

Missionary Lizards

During War on Christmas week when us secularists usually do battle with pre-emptive strikes of baby Jeebus mania, this year seems to have been somewhat of a cease fire. Probably because no one had any books to sell this season. Or perhaps this particular manufactured conflict at Fox had reached saturation and they decided the outrage factor was lacking some punch. In any event it's fairly peaceful between true believers and we, the forces of darkness this season. Just the usual longing for January 1 and the god-save-me-from-your-believers head shakes. The same sappy songs are at the malls and no reports yet of fistfights over "Happy Holidays".

(Although there was a brawl over a "Happy Hanukkah" in New York when a muslim college student jumped into a fight against some skinheads who wanted to beat up some jewish kids for saying that.)

But truly, religionists wouldn't feel so put upon if blind obedience to loony dogma didn't make them look so...loony. Corporatized Christianity is at it's apotheosis of ugly this time of year in it's weird synergy with untrammeled consumerism, and everybody seems to conveniently forget that Jeebus couldn't have been born in December anyway according to religious texts. Flaming hypocrisy doesn't make war loving jeebus freaks very attractive and leaves them open to more than just a little bit of criticism around the time they celebrate the arrival of their god-baby of peace.

Photobucket

We've had about seven long years of god-talks-to-me craziness at the top of the current political food chain and to my weary eyes it's helped to bring a whole lot of hell rather than peace on earth. Not only that, it's smoothed the way for over the top religious candidates like Mike Huckabee to actually run for the presidency and not be laughed out of the building. God pimping zealotry is making a play for the big time once again and we can't afford to go down that christopath any longer.

I draw the line at creationism, I really do. It's so totally off the wall nuts as it twists and squirms in it's science, what science? pretzel logic that it's a wonder we don't see an epidemic of exploding heads due to out of control cognitive dissonance. One would think that the earth existing for only 6,000 years old would be right up there with, oh, Romney's commitment to american indians actually being jews in disguise, and that only propellerheads would nod in agreement. But no, these are beliefs that possible presidents proudly proclaim presently and really, are they actually capable of wending their way through middle east catastrophes, or will they exacerbate them?

Creationists cheerily address the sticky problem of dinosaurs this way:

"...we call dinosaurs ‘missionary lizards.’ This is because we can show people that the Bible actually explains dinosaurs and makes sense of the evidence we find around the world. In thinking about dinosaurs, one also has to talk about death (after all, dinosaur fossils are dead!) — and thus, the origin of death because of sin. This leads into a discussion of the Gospel."

In other words, just cherry pick through the Book and don't believe in rational thought processes. It's All God's Work, end of any conflicting discussion. And guess what? People will be so amusingly intrigued at these absurd saurian stupidities that they'll come back to see what other crazy junk you got! Yay, ministry accomplished! If Huckabee and millions of true Believers actually think the Flintstones belongs on the History Channel, is it any wonder the rest of us look at nativity scenes as fictional flights of fantasy?

Think You REALLY Own Things?

You're just a caretaker.

Man wants his $400K back from the FBI

"LIMA — Two robbers who broke into Luther Ricks Sr.’s house this summer may have not gotten his life savings he had in a safe, but after the FBI confiscated it he may not get it back.
Ricks has tried to get an attorney to fight for the $402,767 but he has no money. Lima Police Department officers originally took the money from his house but the FBI stepped in and took it from the Police Department. Ricks has not been charged with a crime and was cleared in a fatal shooting of one of the robbers but still the FBI has refused to return the money, he said.
“They are saying I have to prove I made it,” he said.
The 63-year-old Ricks said he and his wife, Meredith, saved the money during their lifetime in which both worked while living a modest life.
A representative of the FBI could not be reached for comment.
During the fatal shooting incident inside the house June 30, Ricks and his son were being attacked by two men and his son was stabbed. Ricks broke free, grabbed a gun and shot to death 32-year-old Jyhno Rock inside his home at 939 Greenlawn Ave.
Police originally took the money after finding marijuana inside Ricks’ home, which Ricks said he had to help manage pain.
“I smoke marijuana. I have arthritis. I have shingles, a hip replacement,” he said.
Ricks, who is retired from Ohio Steel Foundry, said he always had a safe at home and never had a bank account.
American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio Legal Director Jeff Gamso said Ricks has a tough road ahead, not impossible, but tough to get back his money.
“The law of forfeiture basically says you have to prove you’re innocent. It’s terrible, terrible law,” he said.
The law is tilted in favor of the FBI in that Ricks need not be charged with a crime and the FBI stands a good chance at keeping the money, Gamso said.
“The law will presume it is the result of ill-gotten gains,” he said.
Still Ricks can pursue it and possibly convince a judge he had the money through a lifetime of savings. Asking the FBI usually doesn’t work, he said.
“The FBI, before they would give it up, would want dated receipts,” he said.
If the FBI does keep the money, it would be put toward a law enforcement use, if the city of Lima does not fight for it because the city discovered it, Gamso said."

What If America Were Invaded And Occupied?

Seizing the high ground by calling the manipulated conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan "wars" was the fascist' greatest coup. By using that term they could bludgeon opposition, get their massive funding and begin the process of fashioning a national security police state. The recipients of this american largesse see it a lot differently, of course, but are seldom heard from in the contemptible MSM as that would put a different face on what exactly we're doing in those countries.

There's a new movie out called "Meeting Resistance"

"MEETING RESISTANCE is a verité-style non-fiction feature-length film set in the streets, alleyways and ubiquitous teashops of the Adamiyah neighborhood of Baghdad. It enters the physical and psychological heart of the "Insurgency" against the American-led occupation. Photojournalists/directors Steve Connors and Molly Bingham spent ten-months among the insurgents there to create this exclusive, unique, and at once horrifying, compelling and insightful film about their lives, motivation, and goals."

Sounds like something our mass murdering cabal wouldn't want us to see. Trailer here.

added - Meanwhile summing up the maladministration's year the most incompetent secretary of state in living memory says
"We don't have permanent enemies," she said. "What we have is a policy that is open to ending confrontation or conflict with any country that is wiling (sic)to meet us on those terms."

"Those terms" meaning you take what we dish out and STFU.

Chertoff And The DHS Want To Know Everything You Do

Still think all the police state apparatus is being set up to protect you? Do you still labor under the delusion that the global war on terror is anything but a massive scam to sieze resources abroad and set up a fascist state domestically?

DHS finalizing plans for domestic spy satellite program

"A plan to dramatically widen US law enforcement agencies' access to data from powerful spy satellites is moving toward implementation, as Department of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff expects to finalize a charter for the program this week, according to a new report.
Chertoff insists the scheme to turn spy satellites -- that were originally designed for foreign surveillance -- on Americans is legal, although a House committee that would approve the program has not been updated on the program for three months
."

This network of powerful spy satellites that can intercept any electronic transmission and "can see through cloud cover, trees and even concrete buildings" will be coordinated with a vast computer network. The fascists employ a vacuum cleaner approach to information gathering and will use yet another sub program of the DHS called the National Applications Office to distribute the information to law enforcement.

This ain't no effort to thwart 'terror', folks. This is all designed to thwart opposition to fascism, using high technology to monitor your behavior. This has nothing to do with the phony muslim terror menace and everything to do with making sure you ain't a threat to the big takeover. And don't think for a second the spineless enablers in congress won't roll over on this. Just think of a jackboot thug waving a finger at you and scolding "If you have nothing to hide, what's the problem?"

After all, Donald Kerr, deputy director of National Intelligence, had this admonition for you in October -
“I think all of us have to really take stock of what we already are willing to give up, in terms of anonymity.”
So what's a quantum leap little more invasion of privacy?

But hey! Britney's sister is preggers!

"Israel Will Attack Iran On It's Own"

Blares a headline in today's Jerusalem Post.

"I came back from a trip to Israel in November convinced that Israel would attack Iran," Bruce Riedel, a former CIA official and senior adviser to three US presidents, George W. Bush among them, told the American Newsweek magazine in an article published Friday.

Citing conversations he had in Israel with officials in Mossad and the Israeli defense establishment, Riedel concluded that "Israel is not going to allow its nuclear monopoly to be threatened."

Of course it won't. The zionist entity is bound and determined to be the big boy on the block, threatening, attacking and invading it's neighbors at will regardless of it's pariah status among the world community. It will be willing to murder millions of Persians and Arabs and start a world war to maintain it's dominant position. After all, it has it's good buddy and ever reliable cash cow to step right in to cover it's belligerent ass and clean up it's messes.

Enter Dim Son, who's massive entourage is going to lumber to Israel on January 8 for a week, so if preparations are being made to murder Iranians at least the bloodbath won't begin until January 15, coincidentally the ultimatum date his father gave Saddam Hussein just prior to Gulf Slaughter One. The Bushistas will want to scuttle back to safety in Washington and watch the carnage unfold from afar. Prime minister Olmert seems to be making plans to weather the resultant shitstorm from his unprovoked attack as he's having a super duper bomb shelter constructed for himself in Jerusalem. Too bad about everyone else, especially if the ziofascists invoke the Samson Option.

First Americans Declare Independence

Lakota withdraw from treaties, declare independence from U.S.

"We are no longer citizens of the United States of America and all those who live in the five-state area that encompasses our country are free to join us," said Russell Means, a longtime Indian rights activist. "This is according to the laws of the United States, specifically Article 6 of the Constitution," which states that treaties are the supreme law of the land.
"It is also within the laws on treaties passed at the Vienna Convention and put into effect by the U.S. and the rest of the international community in 1980. We are legally within our rights to be free and independent," he added during a press conference yesterday in Washingt
on."

This is going to be interesting in a number of ways.
First, if any tribe of Native Americans can lay claim to legitimate ownership of vast areas of land within the territory of the US, it's the Lakota. They signed a treaty in 1868 setting aside the Black Hills as tribal land forever. Later the federal government stole it. In 1980 the supreme court acknowledged this and awarded the tribe over a hundred million dollars. This is where the story gets impressive- the tribe hasn't touched the money and it sits in a bank, worth over a half billion after interest. The Sioux insist with fierce determination that the land belongs to them.

Turn to international news. The US and western entities are hot to recognize Kosovo, a province of Serbia, as independent.

"The ultra-right-wing forces now running Serbia’s Kosovo province plan to announce its secession from Serbia in 2008. The U.S. and most NATO powers support this reactionary move, continuing their strategy of “divide and conquer” in the Balkans. This strategy has pulled Yugoslavia into pieces, leaving the region unstable, divided and now facing new internecine wars."

The Balkans are a tinderbox and Kosovo could be the match that sets off a conflagration. Russia is Serbia's ally and has said in no uncertain terms that the province will remain a part of Serbia.

So then we get reports that since the US is set to recognize Kosovo as independent, Russia is threatening to recognize the Lakota nation as an independent state within the US:

"Reports circulating in the Kremlin today state that an enraged President Putin has ordered Russian Foreign Ministry Officials to begin the processes needed for Russia to recognize the Lakota Sioux Indian Tribe as an independent Nation..."

The Sioux have put out a welcome mat to anybody who wants to join them in a tax free country. The only qualification is that you have to renounce your US citizenship. With the way this country is headed over a cliff, I'll bet a lot of people might take them up on their offer.

Is The Government Too Broke To Hand Out Tax Refunds?

Bush: Tax refunds could be delayed Blah Blah

I'll go on record here and suggest that we won't ever see tax refunds this coming year or any other year. But I'll hedge that a little, meaning the scumbags might wait until the dollar is worth exactly nothing and then give us our money, which is virtually the same thing.

Giuliani Gets The Vapors

Hundreds Drop Everything To Care For Him

"ST. LOUIS -- Giuliani left a local hospital here after spending most of the day being treated for a severe headache and other “flu-like symptoms,” but it remains unclear how his medical scare will affect his future campaign schedule. Giuliani was en route back to New York City from Chesterfield Wednesday night when he became ill on the plane and then returned to the St. Louis suburb, where he was evaluated by EMTs and brought to Barnes Jewish Hospital here, his wife Judith told reporters today.
Campaign aides said all tests were done as a precautionary measure and were negative, with campaign communications director Katie Levinson adding that Giuliani received a “clean bill of health.”
The candidate this evening is once again en route to New York City, where he will receive a follow-up examination from his doctors there, Mrs. Giuliani said."

US Whips Up "Torture Room", Points To Usual Bogeymen

Torture Center Found in Northern Iraq

"U.S. soldiers found mass graves north of Baghdad next to a torture center where chains were attached to blood-spattered walls and a metal bed frame was still connected to an electrical shock system, the military said Thursday."

The propaganda machine at work. Whenever the military feels the need to justify their presence in Iraq we get lurid tales like this or are handed photos of Iranian weapons with english writing on them to bolster the Big Lie. What they want us to believe is that we and the valiant, struggling Iraqi people are shoulder to shoulder fighting insidious Al Qaeda types who are trying to create mayhem and make sure Iraq remains violent and a failed state.

The truth is that this is old garbage propaganda used since forever to cover up bloody occupations and the struggle by a resistance to end it. There are always some collaborators who side with the foreign forces and they're sure to be waved around to convince the home crowd that the wogs love their masters, but in truth the occupied people have somewhat of an aversion to being subjugated. It's funny how this 'torture room' was supposedly found almost two weeks ago but the story was released a day or so after this headline:

All Iraqi Groups Blame U.S. Invasion for Discord, Study Shows

"Iraqis of all sectarian and ethnic groups believe that the U.S. military invasion is the primary root of the violent differences among them, and see the departure of "occupying forces" as the key to national reconciliation..."

That torture center story goes on to say:

"You know, there's going to be continued spectacular attacks," Hertling said. "We're trying, along with the Iraq army, to protect all the infrastructure of Iraq. These people who are fighting us, who are fighting the Iraqi people, continue to just destroy with no intent to contribute to what Iraq is trying to be."

This statement is ridiculous on it's face, of course, but the military has taken it's cue from the Bushistas and is addicted to lying about anything and everything. Yes those spectacular attacks will continue whenever the spook agencies feel the need for them to pretend Al Qaeda exists. We're to believe indiscriminate slaughter of your own people has always been the tactic of a resistance to get rid of a hated occupation. Sure, you bet. And this spokesflack is pulling that infrastructure compassion out of his ass. By all accounts it still remains in ruins, exemplified by the electricity minister hopeful that if they're lucky the power grid might get to pre invasion levels - by 2011. Amost five years after the country was bombed back into the stone age it still lies in tatters, just the way it's supposed to be.

But this 'torture room' stuff gets trotted out when our masters feel we have to be reminded that it's an ongoing fight against faceless bogeymen and that vulnerable Iraqis (and their oil) would be in terrible jeopardy if we left. And oh yeah, when they feel the need to knock their own little torture story off the front page.

So How Are Those Countries Doing That We Invaded And Occupied?

You know, those resource rich countries that were scheduled to be overrun and siezed after the US suffered a "new Pearl Harbor"? You know, like Iraq where there's well over 1,200,000 innocent people dead, 2,000,000 wounded and 4,000,000 refugees because of our little invasion?
"Half the population of Iraq are either refugees, in need of emergency aid, wounded, or dead."

Iraq to slash food rations
"Iraq plans to cut food rations and subsidies by almost 50 per cent as part of its overall 2008 budget because of insufficient funds and spiralling inflation.
(...)
The impending move will affect the nearly 10 million who depend on the already fragile rationing system."

Iraq gets invaded by yet another country
"Bush invites Turkey to bomb Kurds; how must it feel to play God?"

Maybe Afghanistan is doing well since the US invaded and occupied the place after the self inflicted wounds of 9/11? After all, one of the most impovershed places on the face of the earth could surely have benefitted from america's occupation, correct? No.

Reports document deepening social catastrophe in Afghanistan

"More than six years after the US-led invasion of Afghanistan, two recently released reports have again demonstrated the falsehood of the Bush administration’s claims to be helping the Afghan people. The social indices on literacy, life expectancy and food availability contained in the reports provide an insight into the terrible social crisis confronting millions of Afghans.
The 2007 Afghanistan Human Development Report produced by the United Nations and based on statistics gathered in 2005 shows that Afghanistan has actually fallen in world rankings. In 2004, it was placed 173rd out of 178 countries on the UN global human development index; in 2007 it has fallen another place to 174th ahead of only four poverty-stricken African countries—Burkina Faso, Mali, Sierra Leone and Niger.
(...)
The shortage of food has resulted in widespread malnutrition and undernourishment, with almost 40 percent of children below the age of three underweight, 54 percent of children under the age of five experiencing stunted growth and 7 percent dying of hunger. Considering that only 31 percent of households nationwide have access to safe drinking water, it is clear that a major humanitarian catastrophe is taking place."

But there's one crop that seems to be doing well under US auspices.

Afghanistan ‘set for record opium harvest’

Well, how about Somalia, where proxy forces from Ethiopia with heavy support from the US military invaded ostensibly in the bogus WOT? After all, this outsourcing and privatizing business seems to be working so well wherever it's implemented, so why not just pay the Abyssinians to do america's dirty work since so many boots are busy elsewhere?

Somalia is now a living nightmare
"A year after the U.S.-backed Ethiopian army toppled a hard-line Islamist regime in Somalia, the country has become Africa’s worst humanitarian catastrophe."

Civil War in Somalia: Worse Even Than Darfur

Mission accomplished. Now with chaos assured US warlords will balkanize the country, meaning they'll carve it up and create a client state that pretends to be independent, making it safe for certain familiar enterprises.

The push to create "Somaliland"
"The Pentagon has been spearheading a seemingly dicey initiative to pressure Washington into recognizing the secessionist northwestern region of Somalia, known as "Somaliland," as an independent state."

The oil factor in Somalia - from the Energy Bulletin
"Far beneath the surface of the tragic drama of Somalia, four major U.S. oil companies are quietly sitting on a prospective fortune in exclusive concessions to explore and exploit tens of millions of acres of the Somali countryside."

They used axes to break windows on the third floor of the ornate building shortly after the blaze broke out after 9 a.m.

The fire started near the vice presidential offices, CNN's Kathleen Koch reported.

Not So Satisfying Encounters With Business This Season

1. American Express
Generally I've had good relations with this place and have had two card accounts with them for about ten years. One is a credit account and the other is a charge card account that gets paid off every month. All that changed last night.
You see Mrs Lipstick loves her Portland Trailblazers. For some inexplicable reason she enjoys watching sweaty, muscular young men run up and down a ball court. I'm not into sports but she loves to watch them play and we even got special cable that will broadcast the games. What makes her happy makes me happy.
Anyway I thought I'd get her a wide screen hi-def LCD television to replace the aging set we own. A nice unit on sale at Radio Shack was perfect - a quick purchase to avoid the jostling shoppers and everybody would be happy.
But no.
American Express denied the charge card and urged the clerk to call them. Bear in mind that not once in ten years have I ever been late for monthly payments and that I was trying to use the charge card which under our contract has no pre set limit. The clerk had finally contacted AmEx and handed the phone over. I found myself speaking with some guy calling himself "Trevor" who could barely speak english. He was obviously an outsourced Bangladeshi or Pakistani who denied my request to buy the TV.
Why?
Because I hadn't paid my January bill yet. That's right. Some underpaid/outsourced foreigner halfway around the world had the power to decide whether I could buy a gift on a previously open ended card, and told me no because a bill which wasn't due for weeks wasn't paid yet.

2. Proflowers and FedEx
My sister and my mother have birthdays in early December. I send them flowers. I ordered bouquets in late November. My mother got them, but ten days after my sister's birthday she was flowerless. I called FedEx and was told said flowers were sitting in a corner gathering dust. I called Proflowers and was told new ones would get there by yesterday. I'll leave it up to you to guess if she got them or not.
By the way I had paid for them with AmEx. It's a vicious world.

The US Has Already Used Nuclear Weapons In Iraq And Afghanistan

"In Afghanistan and Iraq, women who should be overjoyed by their pregnancies call their condition “jelly belly”. So many babies are being born with stubby limbs, with their intestines outside their bodies, with huge bulging tumors where their eyes should be-or with a single Cyclopean eye, or without eyes, or without limbs, and even without heads-new mothers no longer ask, “Is it a girl or a boy?”
Instead, they anxiously inquire, “Is it normal, doctor
?”

Anti-Radar Group Blows Up French Speed Cameras

Blackwater In Baghdad: "It Was A Horror Movie"

New testimony from witnesses and victims provides the most in-depth, harrowing account to date of the U.S. security firm's deadly rampage in Iraq.
But it's all water under the bridge as they've exonerated themselves.

"For Khalaf, a 38-year-old Iraqi, Sept. 16 started like many other sunny summer workdays. He donned his police uniform -- a white shirt, navy trousers and hat -- and headed to Baghdad's busy Nissour Square. By 7 a.m. he was out in the street, directing the flow of traffic coming from the multi-laned Yarmouk access road into the square. When he spotted four large all-terrain vehicles with guns mounted on top, he did what he always did. He stopped traffic and cleared the area for what he knew, from the tell-tale sign of the two accompanying helicopters, to be a security firm's convoy.
At first, this seemed completely normal for the totally abnormal world of Baghdad in September 2007. "Convoys are common," explained Khalaf. But this convoy made an unexpected U-turn, drove the wrong way around the one-way square, stopped in the middle of it and started shooting. Fifteen minutes later, 17 Iraqi civilians were dead, dozens more wounded, and a white sedan that had been engulfed in flames contained two bodies charred beyond recognition.
"It was a horror movie," said Khalaf, describing the aftermath of the now notorious Blackwater shootings."

Before You Flee For Your Life, Your Papers, Shnell!

Next time, evacuees subject to criminal checks

"Texans seeking to escape the next hurricane or state emergency by evacuation bus will first be submitted to criminal background checks, the state's emergency management director says."

By The Friends You Keep

The Bushistas have precious few 'strategic partners' in the world. Here are two of them very busy at work on lovely projects sanctioned by the fascists.

Ethiopia - Ah, the wonders of a whole 'nuther front in the criminal scam known as the war on terror. The US has lavishly rewarded the Abyssinians for being proxy thugs in invading and overthrowing the Islamic Courts in neighboring Somalia, turning that poor country into Africa’s worst humanitarian catastrophe:

"A year after the U.S.-backed Ethiopian army toppled a hard-line Islamist regime in Somalia, the country has become Africa’s worst humanitarian catastrophe.
About 200,000 refugees, mostly women and children, have fled from a pro-government offensive to makeshift camps along a 10-mile stretch of sun-baked asphalt that leads from the seaside capital of Mogadishu toward the inland town of Afgoye."

Roving militias terrorizing the countryside with ongoing genocide in an illegal invasion, what's not to like there? Not only is the Bushistas' lil' buddy also gearing up for war with another neighbor, Eritrea, it's found a novel way of filling the need for manpower:

"The Ethiopian government, one of the United States's top allies in Africa, is forcing untrained civilians - including doctors, teachers, office clerks and employees of development programs financed by the World Bank and United Nations - to fight rebels in the desolate Ogaden region, according to Western officials, refugees and Ethiopian administrators who recently defected to avoid being conscripted."

Palestine - In what can only be called the fine art of collective punishment, Israel has turned the Gaza Strip into a vast sealed off and isolated prison ghetto, imposing arbitrary viciousness on one and a third million people. The suffering has been intense and there are numerous ways to chronicle this contempt for human rights perpetrated by america's best friend, but this, to me, is the most gut wrenching crime of all.

Israeli Occupation kills new baby in Gaza Strip

"Palestinian Medical sources reported today, Friday, that yet another child has died due to the illegal siege and occupation. The infant died after the Israeli occupants banned her from being taken abroad for treatment."

In all 38 sick people have died at Israeli checkpoints when they weren't allowed to seek medical help. The situation continues to deteriorate dramatically and a lot more are going to get ill from lack of sanitary conditions and electricity. Which seems to be fine with the war criminals in Washington, since economic and military aid to that shitty little state were substantially increased this year.

Clueless Brits In The News

Low morale and public disgust due to inadequate propaganda says honcho
"A senior army commander has said that British troops in Iraq feel they lack public support because the conflict remains mired in "spin and dodgy dossiers".

Just maybe it's because of an illegal and blood soaked conquest
Whopping "2% of Basra residents believe that British troops have had a positive effect on the province since they helped the US overthrow Saddam Hussein in March 2003."

But Afghanistan, on the other hand, has been a smashing triumph
"The British commander in Afghanistan, Brigadier Andrew Mackay, has said there is more public support for the campaign there than for Iraq operations."

Murdering the wogs in a media free backwater doesn't stir up much of an outcry. And saying casual slaughter is at least better than wholesale slaughter is just batshit crazy. Truly, this latest pathetic propaganda offensive to prop up support for indefensible war crimes is amazing.

Huckster's Flash In The Pan Candidacy Probably Over

Seeing as how his rise in popularity was due to invisible cloud being adherents, his theology degree lie will probably send him packing. Jeebus, too bad.

Campaign admits candidate doesn't have claimed religious credential
I think I’m stronger than most people because I truly understand the nature of the war that we are in with Islamo fascism,” Huckabee told the Christian Broadcasting Network. “These are people that want to kill us. It’s a theocratic war. And I don’t know if anybody fully understands that. I’m the only guy on that stage with a theology degree. I think I understand it really well.”

"Governor Huckabee doesn’t have a theology degree. He only spent a year in seminary."

It reads like a Hollywood pitch that gets rejected for not being believable enough.

Mission Accomplished

Drag it on long enough, keep up the lies and soon magical things happen:

"I have now received three (3) student papers that discuss Iraq's attack on the Twin Towers on 9/11. All three papers mention it as an aside to another point. I've had two papers on the virtue of forgiveness that argue that if we had just forgiven Iraq for the 9/11 attacks, we wouldn't be at war right now. I just read a paper on the problem of evil which asked why God allowed "the Iraq's" to attack us on 9/11.
The thing that upsets me most here is that the the students don't just believe that that Iraq was behind 9/11. This is a big fact in their minds, that leaps out at them, whenever they think about the state of the world."

Churning Out The Propaganda

Poll Shows More Optimism on War blares the Washington Post. A bizarrely optimistic headline if there ever was one. Since US military deaths are fast approaching (an official) 4000, never mind the suffering and carnage among Iraqis, and that the national treasury is being dumped into this bottomless cesspit of corruption, one wonders who the hell they're polling. Halliburton employees?

"Although a majority say the United States is not making significant gains toward restoring civil order in Iraq, the public's views are more positive than at this time last year. About four in 10 say the United States is making progress, an increase of 10 percentage points over last year.
Looking ahead to the new year, the public is somewhat more hopeful about the situation in Iraq. Forty-six percent said they are optimistic about the situation in Iraq in 2008, six points higher than in December 2006
."

Classic propaganda. Despite overwhelming distaste with their rotten activities the MSM will try to paint debate in 'too close to call' balanced colors. The whole purpose of this exercise is to make you think that the tide is slowly beginning to change, that their asinine 'stay the course' attitudes will prevail at some point. That's the whole purpose of this garbage - to give the appearance of some "light at the end of the tunnel". Remember that phrase? It's meant to drag us all along with ongoing indefensible crime. It's meant to let the criminal scum feasting off this manufactured conflict stay at the banquet table while the military is ground down like hamburger and entire countries turn into radioactive morgues.

But here's the most important thing - this isn't a war. The US military has formally and illegally invaded and occupied two countries and is fighting the growing resistance to that occupation. That "war" appellation was slapped on their actions by criminal scum who engineered a self inflicted wound on 9/11, the opening kickoff of a grand game of conquest abroad and fascism at home. They knew that if you can convince people that if they're in a terrible fight then you can literally get away with murder. Which is why we're endlessly told this bloody murder amounts to war. That word appears no less than 18 times in this rotten piece of dead fish from the Washington Post.

This is the task of the ever loathsome MSM. Demonize the faceless enemy in this misnamed scam. Toss a few factoids about, distract the complacent masses with celebrity gossip and other meaningless tripe but never, ever venture outside established parameters of debate. Make sure those crucial a priori assumptions are rammed into peoples' heads with a repetition that would make Goebbels proud. And always kneel to power as they kiss their masters' backsides.

Vice-President Eduardo Garcia announced that in the near future, Bolivia will present to the US Congress documents which show the US government and Embassy in Bolivia are providing aid to groups linked to opponents of President Evo Morales.
He accused the United States of instigating instability in the country and trying to weaken the central Bolivian government.
The Bolivian government has recently arrested several American citizens accused of importing illegal weapons into Bolivia, stating the US government has paid $140 million to Morales' opponents."

12/12/7 Chavez Calls For a Battle of Ideas to Combat U.S. Interference in Latin America

"The Venezuelan people and government have been subjected to a fierce media war for the past 10 years which was intensified in the last few months, with a dirty psychological war appealing to peoples fears, aimed neutralising the Venezuelan people, Chavez said. This was one of the key reasons for the electoral defeat of the proposed constitutional reforms during the referendum on December 2 he explained.
Chavez also warned that Venezuela possesses documents to show that "the United States has plans to invade Venezuela."
He also said, "the gringos have plans for a coup against Evo Morales."

Well whaddya know.

12/14/7 Bolivian states threaten autonomy

"Bolivia has put its military on alert after four states declared their intention to create independent regional governments."

And why hand hundreds of millions in US taxpayer money to rich opponents of Bolivian president Morales to stir up trouble and foment possible civil unrest? Let's go back to last year...

That Heroine At New Life Church

Not many of us would have had the guts to do what she did. Think about this for a minute - last week that killer went to a missionary dormitory and murdered two people and twelve hours later showed up at the New Life Church intending to seriously up his body count.

This time he was armed with a semi auto rifle, two 9 mm pistols and what police say was around a thousand rounds of ammo. He had a couple more guns in his car, just in case. This is a meg-church on a Sunday and was full of people. There's no way of telling how many people would have been slaughtered, and he had already fired around forty rounds and killed two more kids in the parking lot. People suspected he could have easily shot a hundred. This is what Jeanne Assam faced as a volunteer security guard.

This woman is devout and was weak from days of fasting. She could have hid, protecting herself. But armed only with a 9 mm pistol herself she faced this guy and shot him three times. A woman armed with only a handgun took down a guy spraying the building with a rifle. This is how she put it:
"I heard shots fired. It was chaos. There were a lot of people in the church," she described.
"The halls cleared out, and I saw him coming through the doors. I took cover, waited for him to get closer, came out of cover and identified myself, engaged him, took him down," she said."

The fact that he supposedly ended it himself with a bullet in the brain doesn't diminish the extraordinary bravery that this woman showed under extreme circumstances.

Mittster Gets A Megaphone

Mitt Romney to Buy Clear Channel Communications

"What would it cost to buy the support of just about every nationally-syndicated neocon talk show host in America? About $19.5 Billion, which is what Mitt Romney's private equity firm, Bain Capital, and Thomas H. Lee Partners have agreed to pay in a leveraged buyout agreement with Clear Channel Communications, the largest radio station owner in the country.
Clear Channel owns over 1,100 full-power AM, FM, and shortwave radio stations, twelve radio channels on XM Satellite Radio, and more than 30 television stations in the United States.
Premiere Radio Networks, which is the largest syndication company in the United States, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Clear Channel and is home to Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and many others. Sean Hannity recently signed a large multi-market contract with Clear Channel, as well."

Clear Channel was the monstrosity who, back in 2003, would have it's local stations surreptitiously sponsor War With Iraq Now! rallies with free food, then send their news teams over to cover them as breaking news.

Get set for a Romneypalooza when the flaming media whores get their marching orders. They know who signs their checks.

added - Looks like someone is trying to buy him some serious airtime. Get ready to be hit upside the head with MittMania:

"This deal, even though not closed yet, could be significant. No candidate running for President of the United States at this time could boast such direct influence with the media. One has to wonder if the Romney campaign would make it publicly known that their candidate was tied to the above mentioned 1,100 radio stations 12 XM stations and 30 plus TV stations. Would these stations in the tradition of honest journalism mention their ties to Romney whenever a story about the 2008 Presidential race was discussed?"

Don't bet on it.

U.S. Refuses `Any Wounded Soldier' Mail

"Hundreds of thousands of holiday cards and letters thanking wounded American troops for their sacrifice and wishing them well never reach their destination. They are returned to sender or thrown away unopened.
Since the Sept. 11 attacks and the anthrax scare, the Pentagon and the Postal Service have refused to deliver mail addressed simply to "Any Wounded Soldier" for fear terrorists or opponents of the war might send toxic substances or demoralizing messages.
Mail must be addressed to a specific member of the armed forces — a rule that pains some well-meaning Americans this Christmas season."

Insane Stay The Course Warmongering

Olmert upbeat on anti-Iran drive

White House Is Confident of Broad Support on Iran

Are these people crazy? No they're not, they're just hell bent on touching off a catastrophic region wide war in the middle east, and they'll get it no matter what. This is cancerous autocratic behavior - unyielding, cold, relentless. What was that gleefull quote from Rice as Israel mercilessly shredded Lebanon with cluster bombs last year?
"What we're seeing here, in a sense, is the growing -- the birth pangs of a new Middle East."

What people have to understand, and after the 16 year long filthy endeavor to completely destroy Iraq it should be patently obvious, is that this criminal cabal desperately desires war. Everything else is just going through the motions to pretend otherwise. That some people are still naive enough to believe otherwise is testament to Goebbels' premise on the Big Lie.

For the ziofascists the agenda is and always was a complete reshaping of the middle east, crushing and balkanizing all opposing societies in the formation of Greater Israel. And of course appropriating the resources therein to put them into the hands of their rightful owners. So instead of feeling pleased and relieved that more evidence is put forward that Iran has no bellicose intentions, instead the fascists redouble their push to punish them, constantly moving the goalposts in their insane gambit to redraw the maps.
There's only room for one big boy on the block.
