Space Exploration Anniversary

Thirty one years ago today the Mars probe Viking 1 landed on the planet.

Scientists Say Mars Viking Mission Found Life

Thirty eight years ago today Neil Armstrong bungled his prepared statement as he hopped onto the moon's surface.

"These "Babies" are huge, Sir!"

"According to a Dr. Vladimir Azhazha: "Neil Armstrong relayed the message to Mission Control that two large, mysterious objects were watching them after having landed near the moon module. But this message was never heard by the public -- because NASA censored it." According to a Dr. Aleksandr Kasantsev, Buzz Aldrin took color movie film of the UFOs from inside the module, and continued filming them after he and Armstrong went outside. Armstrong confirmed that the story was true but refused to go into further detail, beyond admitting that the CIA was behind the cover-up."

Very interested in this stuff. Unfortunately, being on dial-up modem, these embedded video-clips take forever to dl, and i haven't got the time to do so.

Anything over 20 minutes usually takes over 4 to 5 hours to dl, and my isp always cuts me off after 5 hours, in which case i usually lose everything that i wasted all those hours dling to begin with.

Jeez Nick, that sucks. This was just an hour of original 1969 coverage of the Apollo 11 blastoff and "One small step" broadcast. It brought back a lot of memories for me.

Someday, if and when I have the income for high-speed cable, I'll be able to appreciate this stuff more.
I won't be holding my breath on it.

Btw, if you like space-stories, you might want to check out the project I've been working on.
