More Evidence Airport Security Is Nothing But Authoritarian Theater

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) operates what's known as Red Teams which test security in US airports every year. They probe the operations and procedures and look for weaknesses in the systems. In other words they try to be like the phony terrorist caricatures dreamed up by authoritarians to scare the piss out of us and then try to smuggle stuff onboard the aircraft.

9NEWS from Fort Collins tells us how readily these guys were able to slip that stuff by the security systems at Denver International Airport:

"The Red Team uses very expensive chemical simulates in the test devices that look, smell and taste like real explosives, except they do not explode. To the CTX bomb detection machines at DIA, they are real explosives, according to a former Red Team leader.Sources told 9NEWS the Red Team was able to sneak about 90 percent of simulated weapons past checkpoint screeners in Denver. In the baggage area, screeners caught one explosive device that was packed in a suitcase. However later, screeners in the baggage area missed a book bomb, according to sources."

Now, one glaringly obvious problem with this is what the hell are all the gun toting goons, pat downs, intrusive machinery, anal probes and general fearful privacy shattering stunts good for? If they can get bomb making apparatus and weapons through the fake security at one of the busiest airports in the country, what does that tell us about what authorities have really been doing about our security?

Of course the answer is not one fucking thing. If our government really wanted security for the people it wouldn't put corporate profits first, it wouldn't have vicious, bullying foreign policies that sow hate, it wouldn't declare war on the world and create people by the thousands who'd want to strike back. Anybody with a lick of sense can figure that out.

Aside from the fact that people who are aggrieved enough to fight back will hit directly at the machinery of injustice and not innocent people, and that most mass murders have been done by government black ops, it's impossible anyway to make flying completely secure. Airlines could minutely examine luggage and make people fly nude and someone with deadly intent would still find a way to create problems. All the bullying and abuse and intrusive mechanisms at airports is all about conditioning the american population, it's about getting us used to and accepting a top down police state. The fascists want us scared and subservient.

"There's very little substance to security," said former Red Team leader Bogdan Dzakovic. "It literally is all window dressing that we're doing. It's big theater on TV and when you go to the airport. It's just security theater."

But showing how easy it was to smuggle bombs and weapons on board is good news for the people who are paid to dream up new ways to control and manipulate the sheep - they'll just add to the hoops we have to jump through. It's what it's all about anyway.
