What Happened to the North Korean Missile Launch?

All last week we were treated to minute to minute hyperventilation about North Korea and the imminent launch of a Taepodong-2 missile. They were fueling it up, it was ready to go, it was a two stage three stage vehicle, it could carry a nuke, it could hit the west coast.

Worldwide hysteria took over. The US debated whether to shoot it down. Australia and Japan promised "harsh measures" if the launch took place. A former defense secretary actually called for a pre emptive attack. For several days the MSM treated us to non stop speculation and blather.

Today the New York Times admitted that nobody knew jack shit what they were talking about.

This isn't the first time this happened. Over the years this fear mongering pattern was repeated endlessly. I remember the big hoopla about Saddam's big guns that were supposed to threaten the entire middle east. It seems this country thrives on having enemies; this country has to have enemies. And so any steps taken by the designated boogeymen worldwide are turned into threats and the media shills take their cue to hype the menace.
Shame on them all.
