Complete Insanity

1. The American gulag at Guantanamo is the fascist's declaration to the world that there is no higher power than themselves. It's a message to us all that there is, in fact, no more law.

Some men have been kept there for years without being charged with anything. The government has said repeatedly that they may be held for life. We're so blinded by the soothing narrative of our special goodness that we don't see tyranny when it's right in front of our face.

There have been hundreds of suicide attempts there and dozens of hunger strikes. Three succeeded in escaping their torture and abandonment this weekend by hanging themselves to death.

What's the response from the camp commander? The americans are victims.
"I believe this was not an act of desperation, but an act of asymmetrical warfare waged against us."

Meanwhile, some douchebag spokesflack calls it a publicity stunt.

Alicublog - "Fox News announced it would refer henceforth to such suicides as "homicide suicides" to let viewers know that they were actually attacks on American self-esteem.

No getting around it. Fucking. Bozos.

2. The Israeli army shells a Gaza beach, killing 10 palestinians and wounding 40 others.
An Israeli version of spokesflackery calls it a "work accident".

3. Professional Skank Ann Coulter continues to shill for the fascists by attacking 9/11 widows as 'self-obsessed' 'millionaires' 'reveling in their status as celebrities'
Apparently upset that they don't show enough fealty to the Sockpuppet and that they forced the fascists to hold their whitewashing 9/11 commission, the Skank shrieks that "they enjoy their husbands' deaths".
Keith Olbermann chronicles the stooges and sycophants in the media who are falling all over themselves to rationalize her mental imbalance.
